Dear Crystal. Oh honey! I am so sorry for your loss of your beautiful dear brother.
Please hold on to the possiblity, have faith! love is too strong to die.
I too lost somone dear too this year. It’s so surreal isnt it? and the anger we feel for the one we lost. Grieving to me is the most painful helpless confusing thing ever. To me it’s proof of how much we loved them.
I am a christian and GOD loves us and his mercy never ends YOur brother is with our dear Lord. Paul the Apostle said: NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD; NOT DEATH; NOT ANYTHING ABOVE OR BELOW...
I Love that passage. YOUR dear brother is with THE LORD!! Please seek that thought....
and I send my dearest prayer for you to find peace --your brother wants you to find peace. He chose this in his weakness, we all are weak! I live with chronic pain that some days I do want to die..but I try to hold on. But those who feel to overcome with their pain, I understand that. I also believe with all my heart GOD LOVeS the and has them in his home
God bless you

Hi Brenda, my name is Crystal I am sorry for your loss . My brother committed suicide January 27,2012. I too feel lost I have questions with no answers I struggle with faith , I want to believe he is in a better place. I loved my brother very much. I hurt everyday. I want so much to hear his voice again his laugh, and give him a hug. I question if one day I will really see him again. I hope that you sorround yourself with caring and understanding people, it is healing for you to talk about what you feel, I can't say the pain goes away but it helps to understand all the emotions we are feeling.

I heard one once that said, "I'd rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out that there isn't, than to live like there is no God and die and find out there is."

Hello
well written!
but the Bible also says we will rise again. I believe it more than I fear it not being so, I believe it with all my heart.
we sleep when we die. we know nothing until the day of restoration and reunion.
Thank you Ken-youre very kind. In this time of so much bitterness and partisanship with the election, and the repubs and the dem’s, it’s refreshing to hear words of UNDERSTANDING. I rather find a common ground with folks than be an argumentive person
We need more of that in the world.
I seem to be very disenchanted with life lately, with losing Barry, my health after an accident, has left me melancholy. I mean, we all “know” we are going to face death one day--our loved ones, and our own, but because all we know is LIFE from the moment we take our first breath, it’s so “illogical” to our mind, spirit and body when it happens. It’s crushing! Its confusing...
it’s so draining.
WE learn to love more deeply and have more empathy compassion and tenderness. and to let some of the little things go.
I appreciate your response.
I believe living in a reverance to our creator is always wise.
God bless you
Vee, : )
my go to scripture/chapter/ passage--great HOPE!
when we die, when our lovedones leave us, we can hold to this ETERNAL TRUTH
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
There is not a doubt in my mind that there is life after death. The thing I would say to all whom have passed is my how I have missed you and come here and give me a hug. I long for the physical touch of those whom have passed. I feel robbed in a sence. We know that our lives are here now but life does go on and it is glorious in the after life. That is what god has told us, the bible has told us, and that is what our religion tells us. We know our loved ones have no pain, they want nothing, they have everything they could ever want in their after lives. What a wonderful thing to look forward to and I cant wait to go there. I cant wait to see all of them.
ps what a wonderful response from Jackie to Ken...
Marie, Beautiful beautiful words!I am grieving somthing so terrible in that I lost m beloved this last April. My faith in God sustains me and is my hope-before this loss, now and forever.
We do feel robbed, and that is what death is our last enemy that Christ overcame.
I feel for those grieving. I pray fo alll here at this board to find peace in the Lord.

Dear Marie, thank you for your kind words concerning my response to Ken....and yes, you are absolutely right in feeling robbed because death has snatched away those we love. I appreciate what you said you would say to those who have died if you could. These are the lovely, warm words of 'welcome' you would say to them: "How I have missed you, and come here and give me a hug." Just reading those heart touching words lets me see the sadness you have for those who have died....You, and I, as well as many others long to see them again, to give them hugs and kisses again, to cook their favorite meal again, also we long to let them know how we've missed their mouth watering dishes that they use to prepare for us and others, yes we long to hear again their melodious voice whenever their favorite song came on, or to see them dance with the 'moves' like they were "Dancing with The Stars" on TV.... Marie, how we yearn to see them walk or run into a room and just light up the place with their contagious smiles and laughter. Yes, death is so unfair, it cheats and steals the joy, the love, the inspiration and strength that we received from our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. Death being the "enemy" that it is, has robbed us of good friends, robbed us of one or both of our parents, has robbed us of our siblings, grandchildren, grandparents, other relatives, inlaws, good neighbors and co-workers....For persons like you and I who yearn to see to our loved ones again who have fallen asleep in death, guess what?....The real possibility of seeing them again is Bible based as you mentioned in one of your replys. Please, Marie, when you get the opportunity, perhaps over a refreshing cup of tea, I would really be interested in seeing what you think about these verses in the Bible at Acts 24:15 and Revelation 21:4,5. The verse at Acts 24:15 mentions the beautiful hope held out to the billions who are asleep in death; and Revelation mentions what will become of the "enemy" death under Kingdom Rule by Jehovah God. Your viewpoint or opinion will be respected, appreciated and valued....Take care of yourself

I believe:
Since God is the Eternal Spirit of Love, Who breathed His Eternal Breath of Life in to all of His creation, (particularly referring here about mankind), then the soul lives eternally. It can not die. It is the body that "sleeps" in the grave until the Final Judgement, when the soul will then be joined to the body perfected by God...for the New World.
Since Jesus Christ arose from the dead, and since He promised the "good thief" that he would be with Him today in Paradise, and since Jesus also told His apostles that He is going to prepare a place for them (in Heaven), then I believe there is an afterlife. And at the moment of physical death...when the soul leaves the body...the soul goes before God for judgement.
With the unfathomable realm of Spirituality, I believe the soul remembers everything and everyone on earth, ESPECIALLY LOVED ONES... but understands all differently in the afterlife. And since God is Love most intensely, I believe thru the power of God, our loved ones love us with a GREATER LOVE than ever possible on earth. However, they know of none of our grief, sadness, pain, or any trials.
I VERY MUCH look forward to seeing my husband in Heaven. And I would say to him our little joke from the night we met: "Oh, you made it!" I would tell him I love him...and then (somewhat) comparing our beautiful, perfect, most loving wedding day by saying: "Now we will have that day forever!"
Hi John Taylor. I know I may be very late with this answer. However, I hope that I can give some words of encouragement. The Bible clearly says in Ecclesiastes 9:5 that "the dead are concious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages." This means Brandon is not in Purgatude, nor is he burning in a fiery hell. He is simply in an inactive state. Just like he would be if he were sleeping.
However, the Bible does tell us one thing about God. "Jehovah is merciful and gracious. As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, so far off from us he has put our trangressions. For he himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust." (Psalm 103: 8, 12, 14.). So only Jehovah God knows our heart. Only He knows why Brandon sadly ended his life. And only He can judge. No one can tell you whether or not Brandon will receive everlasting life or not.
Jehovah God also promises the hope of living forever on a Paradise earth. We can tell by the way that we grieve that mankind was not created to die. God's original purpose was for Adam and Eve to live forever on earth. In order to see that promise fulfilled, we must do our utmost to live according to God's will.
There is a chance that you may see Brandon again. I know you would love to see him smile again. And be able to hug him and tell him you love him every day. I hope I answered your question to the best of my ability.

My biggest question to GOD is wether or not my son Brandon is OK, if he's been allowed into heaven after committing suicide in May 2008. Being raised a Catholic during my youth, we were taught that suicide is a mortal sin and those who end their life in such a manner, are destand to Purgatude(sic) until the end of time. You have to understand I was six when I was taught these teachings so I've probally mis-intrepted the majority of those teaching, if not misunderstood same. Can someone smarter than me explain GOD's true explanations for suicide?
Unfortunately my faith, which is Buddhism, doesn't believe in an afterlife where we will meet again and have memory of the former life. But, if I could have an afterlife encounter with my wonderful son I would hold him in my arms for a mighty long time. I would kiss his face and squeeze his cheeks. And of course, that would make him smile. Then I would say, "Can you believe what happened? Tell me what you think. What did you feel? What did you hear? Did you know was going on because I didn't? What were some of the thoughts going through your mind? Are you okay now son? Is everything alright where you are now? How can I help in your next life? I will continue to pray for you and desire all the best for your soul every day that I live. I love you so. My wonderful son."
Those who have died will live again (Isaiah 26:19)
