Do you believe in the supernatural? Do you think that anyone has ever tried to contact you or send you signs from the other side?

Dear Wilela,

After the death of my son, I was introduced to a medium.  I had no trust in a medium however I was willing to risk anything to communicate with him if it were really possible.  When I spoke with the medium she told me many things that no one else knew except me.  She relayed specific thoughts that I had and had never spoken out loud.  When I spoke to her on the phone she told me what I was wearing, where I was standing and the color of coffee cup in my hand.  I have since become wonderful friends with this medium, which my son takes credit for.  The information that she bring to me from my son is always something that will allow me to trust that it really is him.  They bring us this information for no other reason other than to help us and to know that they are okay and that they love us.  That is the only thing that matters.  I do believe that it is my son that is communicating and I have heard my friend communicate with countless other people as well.  She bring messages for others that have nothing to do with me and are so accurate and meaningful to the people that she is helping.  The content of the messages is not always what is so important, but more importantly that the message (what ever it is) helps you to trust that your loved one is okay.

I can't say that I believe in a devil.  I do believe that my son has gone to great lengths to help me and his family to know that he is okay and to help up heal.

Dear Gayle - what do you say to people that argue that dead people are put in a deep sleep and cannot communicate with people on earth?  They say they will be resurrected on the second coming of Christ.  They say that any messages or communication is with the devil impersonating our loved ones.

Have you ever tried to contact your son with a medium or someone like that?  Just curious if they can really have communication with them.  Some people say that those kind of people are the devil working through them and they are not communicating with our loved ones.  How do you feel about that?

Thank you for the book messages.  The problems have been addressed and the discount code is working now.

I was afraid to first meet with a medium.  I was afraid that if it didn't work (which I really did not think that it would) then this horrible new way of life without my son would remain for the rest of my days and I did not think that I could bare that so I felt that it was a risk that I had to take.  I will forever be grateful that I did.  Of course, I was so fortunate to be meeting with a truly gifted medium.

I think that is one of the reasons that I feel so compelled to share what I know.  There are so many people like me, who's hearts are broken because of the loss of loved one.  I did not really believe that there was life after death, but now I know for sure.  I had no intention what so ever of writing a book but all along this medium kept saying that someday I would.  My son; Aaron, I believe, helped write this book through me.  My book is from my point of view, on the receiving end of the messages, not from the perspective of the medium.  Hopefully the messages that I was so fortunate to receive and share will help other people that may not be as fortunate as I was to meet such a wonderful and gifted person.

But, I also feel that you have to trust your own self and do what feels right for you.  As a mother who has lost a child, I don't know how many keep going without receiving the gift that I have.  Many days are still difficult, it doesn't change the fact that he is not here as it used to be.  But, without the knowledge that I now have, it would be impossible.

My personal belief is that it really isn't about religion.  I believe that religion is man made and that like anything else, you can take from any one religion, what makes sense for you.  I do believe now, that there is a higher "power" of some sort, and that people can call it what ever they choose or believe, but what I have heard from messages from the otherside for many many different people, is that what is important is that we know that our loved ones still love us and that we love them.  Pretty simple stuff, but at the end of the day, that seems to be the most important message.

Keep looking if you truly want to find a medium.  You would be surprised at how many people have this wonderful gift.  Reputation says it all.  My friend has many clients and it is a waitlist of about 2 years to see her, but, well worth it because she is that gifted.

As you can see, I can talk about this stuff all day.  I hope that you find your answers.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 tells us that the dead are conscious of nothing at all. So it's not your dead loved ones who are contacting you. It's simply a memory that comes to mind so vividly that you can feel their warmth. It's completely normal.

I believe that I have had contact with loved ones who have passed on.

My maternal grandfather passed away when I was 11.  He lived with us in a finished attic room.  One night while I was awake in bed, I heard his steps coming down the stairs, and heard the attic door open.  Footsteps went down the hallway to the bathroom, and I heard the sound of the light switch to the bathroom snap on and off quickly and very audibly.  I think that he was just telling us that he was still with us.

My father passed away about 20 years ago.  We were with him in the emergency room when he passed away from a massive stroke.  I was standing at his head as he lay on the gurney, and as he left I felt his energy  rise upwards out of his body, like sea foam rising on the shore, almost "sizzling".  His spirit then exited through the top of his head, and I felt it pass right through me.  On the night of his funeral, I was lying in bed just relaxing, when I heard his voice in my left ear.  He made a humorous remark that only he would make, very specific.  His "voice" sounded almost, metallic though, I imagine as it came from another dimension.

I find it hard to believe, or accept, that if we have a God/Creator/Universal Mind that created us, that It would permit us to live lives full of emotion, events and love, to just erase it completely upon physical death.  How can our existences, feelings and a lifetime of growth be so meaningless?  If you believe that Christ was a human manifestation of God consciousness, the Deliverer, God incarnate, why would He live on the Earth to teach us about our divine nature  if we are just destined to be erased at death?

Louise,

I completely understand your state of confusion as to why God allows us to suffer, and maybe this feels like mankind wasn't supposed to be here at all. Genesis 1:28 tells us that God's purpose for mankind was to fill the earth and subdue it. Humans were created to live FOREVER on a paradise earth, but our sinful parents, Adam and Eve, messed that up for us. So now we are susceptible to pain, suffering, and death.

Since God loved us humans so much and wanted that original purpose back, he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us so that we can live forever. Job 34:10 says "Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”

Like I stated earlier, the dead are conscious of nothing, so it was most likely a vivid memory that you had of your dad. My condolences are with your family, and I do know what it's like to lose someone in death so suddenly. I hope I helped.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

I interpret the statement that the "dead are conscious of nothing" to mean that their physical bodies are no longer aware, that the physical brain has died.  I don't believe that my experiences were just versions of memories of my family members - the experiences were too unique.  The spirit continues and is alive and conscious on a non-physical dimension.

As far as subduing the Earth - well, humans may have been given Paradise but we have not been the best stewards, unfortunately.  We must learn to respect Creation again, lest we destroy our planet, God's gift.

If Jesus was the physical incarnation of the Creator, and experienced human life and died a physical death to bring us into Grace, then our lives must have some value and our lifetimes surely aren't mean to dissolve at the moment of physical death.

There are many philosophies and interpretations of what happens to living beings when they leave physical existence, when they "die".  Some say that death is God's other door, that conscious just changes but continues.  Some say that the individual falls into a deep dreamless sleep, awaiting resurrection on another dimension.  Another belief is that of a life review and a processing, akin to a purgatory of sorts, and thereafter a continued evolving ascension towards God or another lifetime.  Some await a literal resurrection of the dead.  I don't know exactly what the plan is.

Why did Christ say to the thief crucified next to him, "Today you will be with me in Paradise (sic)", if there is no survival of physical death?  If we are to disappear, then whatever we have done, are doing now, or will do or think doesn't exist or matter.

I miss my deceased loved ones and the good things in our lives together terribly.  It may be wishful thinking to feel their presence around me, but what am I here to learn if it isn't love?  And what is the lesson if I can't take it with me?

Greetings I am sorry for your losses. May I use another line of reasoning. The Bible at (Colossians 1:18) "and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things"
No one prior to Jesus Christ was raised to immortal life in the heavens. Because he was the first to experience a resurrection to perfection of life, he is “the firstborn from the dead” The Bible says Jesus was the fristborn from the dead. Where were all those tens of thousand of people who predeceased him-? According to the Bible at Eccl 9:10 The grave unconscious

He prepared the way for his joint heirs to share with him in a heavenly inheritance by being raised to immortal life as he was. We can see from Gods own words that our precious dead loved ones are not separated from those the care for helpless to assist, lonely and bereft of our loving arms but thankfully, peacefully asleep awaiting a resurrection in Gods due time as death is an enemy he will conquer.

Recall that death was a punishment for disobedience and one Jesus' blood will release us from. Rom. 5:12, 17, 19: “Through one man [Adam] sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned—. . . . By the trespass of the one man death ruled as king . . . Through the disobedience of the one man many were constituted sinners.”
1 Cor. 15:22: “In Adam all are dying.

I find so much comfort in knowing my poor God fearing mother, who served God for decades, is not just beyond our touch, helpless viewing  the tragedy as our imploding family self destructs. That she is in Gods         ' Book of Life' , his memory awaiting a resurrection.

This is not a new thought, the immortality of the soul. From the moment Satan told Eve she would not die if she disobeyed which was in direct opposition to the Creators words people have argued this subject usually without consulting the Holy Writings where we find the truth

Louise - I certainly agree with you.  I too don't believe the Christ came to earth to live like us and die like us just to make us non-existant when we die.  I feel like our loved ones souls go on and send us messages and watch over us.

Perhaps those posters who wish to discuss biblical views on death should start a separate discussion on that subject amongst themselves and free up this discussion for those with questions and comments concerning "messages from the other side".

.

Well put, Victoria. I still wait and hope for a message from Bernie one day.

I haven't been on this site in months and so appropriate that I received an email alert to a new post.  Yesterday was the 5th anniversary of my son; Aarons' death.  How do you go five years without seeing your child?  But, he is after me always to help others heal so I feel compelled to chime in.

You most certainly can receive messages from your loved ones on the other side.  I have been receiving messages since the day that my son passed (only I wasn't aware of it)  They are all around us, only in another form.  I know this for sure because my son made sure that I did and he continues to help me.  If you can open up your heart and your mind, you will see that they are looking out for you and sending you signs more than you know.

Religion is just religion.  And beliefs come in all forms.  What matters is what makes sense to us and helps us to live the best life here that we can.  It doesn't matter who wrote the words, they all come from the same place- it is the love that we have for one another.  What I have found out without a doubt over my journey of the past five years is that our loved ones still love us and are still with us.

I have a web site and blog about my experience since my sons' death.  I had no ideas about life after death prior to his accident.  I had no religious faith of any kind.  The things that have happened to me are so that I can help others like me to heal.  That is what my son wants so that is what I will try to do.  Please take a look at my web site www.aaronsmailbox.com   read the blog and how I learned about life after death.  I was not a likely candidate to believe in anything outside of what I could touch or feel, but my son had different plans for me.  Not everyone will be as fortunate as I was to have things transpire as they did, and that is why I share it with those that might be helped too.  My experience is for us all. To help who ever it can.

Last night my friend called and asked if my husband was using a phillips head screwdriver? Because Aaron was telling her at that moment that he was and that he was with his Dad  . I asked my husband when he came into the house and he said yes, that he was just outside working on something with a phillips head screwdriver.  (that's my boy!)

I hope that aaronsmailbox and my experience can help you in some way.  It is not an easy road and sometimes I am better at getting through the day than others.  However, I do know that if I did not know what I do now, it would be  an impossible journey .

I wish you peace in your heart.
