I JUST WOULD LIKE TO SHARE SOMETHING I CAME ACROSS ON ELLEN BURNT PAGE I THOUGH EVERYONE WOULD LIKE TO READ IT I KNOW IT MADE ME FEEL GOOD AND THE POEM IS TRUE TO ME. I MUST START THINKING AS THE POEM SAYS

I'M GONE NOW BUT I'M STILL VERY NEAR.

DEATH CAN  NEVER SEPARATE US.

EACH TIME YOU FEEL A GENTLE BREEZE.

IT'S  MY HAND CARESSING YOUR FACE.

EACH TIME THE WIND BLOWS.

IT CARRIES MY VOICE WHISPERINE YOUR NAME.

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS YOU HAIR EVER SO SLIGHTY, THINK OF IT AS ME PUSHING A FEW STRAY HAIRS BACK IN PLACE.

WHEN YOU FEEL A FEW RAINDROPS FALL ON YOUR FACE

IT'S ME PLACING SOFT KISSES.

AT NIGHT LOOK AT THE SKY AND SEE THE STARS SHINING SO BRIGHTLY,

I'M ONE OF THOSE STARS AND I AM WINKING AT YOU AND SMILING WITH DELIGHT

FOR NEVER FORGET YOUR THE APPLE OF MY EYE AND  MY BUTTERFLY.

THANK YOU ELLEN FOR POSTING THIS POEM.

Marsha, Your poem was the one we had for Jim's funeral. My youngest daughter had that printed out with Jim' picture. That was so true in Jim's case. It brings me some comfort to read these poems. Thanks everyone.
This is beautiful and had found it months ago. I have it taped to my computer at work, my fridge at home, the mirror in my bathroom, etc. Just a happy reminder that my dear Douglas is with me -- even though I can't see him. I was blessed to have been loved by this incredible man. I am determined to go on and make him proud -- he gave me the strength to be whatever I want. May all of you have an incredible holiday season!

Hugs,

Brigitte

Brigitte, I agree, this poem gives me much solace. I too have it in the kitchen and by the computer and hold my Doug within my heart. Ellen~

Beautiful. Saved it in my documents. The following is another that really touched me....

God saw you getting tired and the cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me".

With tearful eyes I watched you and saw you pass away,
although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest,
God broke my heart to prove, he only takes the best.

Iwas lucky to be with the love of my life when he died at home in my arms. That's what he wanted, and the last thing I could do for him. Will never forget his last words, "I love you."
