Time is a funny thing theres never enough. Then when you loss your spouse of 41 years time stops. I read on someones repley that she didn't know what to do now. I lost my husband Jan 31 2010 my world did stop.

I didn't even know how to shop for one. And yes I wish to sleep and not wake up. It seems like we all share the same feeling. Today is a good day. But waves of tears will come from no where. It's good to know I am not ant different than others.

Hi Jackie, my husband's name when he was growing up was Jackie, and then as an adult when he was with his dad.  We would be on vacation in California at his house and I would hear 'Jackie' all over the house.  It was sweet.

I was married to Jack for 39 years and knew him for 42, so I totally get it, how you feel, how we all feel.  Nope you are the same as the rest of us, which is oddly comforting:)  I was expressing a lot of those feelings today to my counsellor actually.  That I am very lonely, even with people in the house, that when one loses half of one's self, what do you do, where do you turn.   I talk to hubby every night and ask him to come get me...hopefully he hears me sooner than later.

Hang in there and when the tears come, just let them...it's so okay.

Hi Jackie. I feel your pain. I was with my husband for 32 years. Married for 27. The first time I shopped for one I burst into tears. After shopping for 6 (4 kids) and then the kids going off we were down to 2. Kind of an empty nester 2nd honeymoon phase. Then suddenly 11 months of heart and liver disease and Michael was gone. It's been 8 months. I have never lived alone. Carol is right about losing half of one's self. We are here for you.
Yes one never thinks of the little things like what we will still need to do. Like shop but don't look at the mens clothes, that was a hard habit to break since I picked out all of Randy's clothes he wore what I got him.

Boy, can I relate. Gary and I were childhood sweethearts.  Met him at 15 and married him at 17.  We were married almost 39 years and knew each other for 41.  My world indeed has stopped.  I am in limbo and don't know what to do or where to turn. :(
