Oh Kathy, where do I start!!The year for Valentines day ,when everyone else gets a dozen roses,I get a dozen fried chicken livers! He knew I loved them. The day before he died,we attended a funeral. We both worked so I met him there.I stood there watching him scan the crowd looking for me,when he turned his head and spotted me,he grinned from ear to ear.He always thought I was beautiful,I told him never get your eyes fixed!!Now I'm getting teary eyed. But in a good way!
So true!I think that's what gets me through the sad times.Ernie brought home some candy at Xmas time a client had given him. When he got home there were 2 pieces left.He said he got stuck in traffic!!And it WAS a big box!!
I have alot of memories of my wife. The one I can remember is when I took her horseback riding in Colorado. She loved riding and I was scared to death. She did fine but my horse scraped my legs on every tree and fence post he could find. How do you steer this thing,ha ha. Being together 24/7 with my pal is the BEST part. We loved being around together and enjoyed every moment of it. I couldnt get enough of her and if I was too much of a pain(she was an avid reader), Stephen King fan, she would tell me to find something to do. So,thats when she got a computer for me. She got to like it too! I remember every instance of her, to this day.

Kathy, as you could tell, I knew nothing about horses and still dont. You know more than me about them. That wasnt my forte. We did live in Colorado for 10 years and finally I was able to let her ride while we were there. I still have her cowgirl boots, real made. Wow, are they worn.

Kathy, I don't know if I am supposed to ask this or not but are you from NJ? You mention the shore and it makes me think that you might be from NJ.
There are so many! Here's one that made me cry the other night. It just popped into my head. We had just known each other for a couple of weeks when he went on a planned 5 day trip for a family reunion to Vegas with his parents. He stayed two days and he came home. He bought me his first gifts for me, a beautiful gold necklace and bracelet in Vegas and couldn't wait to come home to give them to me. He said he missed me so much, he couldn't stay away. He was an amazingly warm, caring and loving man. I was blessed to have him in my life for 29 years.

Phill and I shared close to 40 years of beautiful memories and times. This is how I felt about him all that time and my memory of him now and always, a humble, beautiful person I was blessed to have as my husband,my friend, my love, forevermore...

A star up in the sky will never know
How lovely is the light that shines below
It’s always there, it never fades
Without its magic light
How would we find our way?.
And you don’t know how beautiful you are
If your eyes could see the love that’s in your heart
Then you would know, what everybody sees
That beautiful is all that you could be.
What did I feel or think was true
I can’t remember before loving you
You’ve shown me all that love can be
As beautiful as you are
It still amazes me.
That you don’t know how beautiful you are
If you your eyes could see the love that's in your heart
Then you would know, what everybody sees
That beautiful is all that you could be.
My wife was many things so there are many memories. One of them is that she was our rock. She could balance all things and them put them into perspective. She was "cool" as I am. In her mid fifties she went to a Ozzie Osbourne concert in Deerfield,In with our daughter in 1999. Sitting on the dirt ground with all the young people. That is "cool". I found her ticket stub while looking through her things. She also embroidered and I found the "his and hers" pillow cases she had embroidered. Too beautiful to use. I know this is more than one memory I have shared, sorry. Started to get carried away about this beautiful woman but she managed to be able to do many things. I miss her sooo much. Hugs to all.
One of my best memories of Joel(my husband) was when we were in college together. It was his birthday but he had a class to go to. Without his knowledge I ordered a dozen yellow roses and six Baby Ruth Candy Bars (There is a song that came out in the 50"s called "A Rose and a Baby Ruth).

I asked the florist if the roses and candy could be delivered to my husband while he was still in his class. To make a long story short the gifts were delivered to his class room. Immediately all the girls in the class began to get excited because they thought they were from them. When the delivery man called out Joel's name everyone in the classroom began to get very excited over the prospect of a guy getting those flowers and candy bars. They paid him all kinds of compliments. Joel on the other hand wanted to hide under the desk. He said he was so embarraced that he didn't know what to do. His face was still beat red when I went up to him after his class. Meanwhile the girls were all standing there calling out "Happy Birthday Joel" and commenting on the beautiful roses.

Usually it is the guy giving the flowers but in this case I felt it only fair to turn things around. Warning----don't try this at home. He was not too appreciative.
