My neice initiated a great idea for my daughter last year that I recommend: a keepsake prayer book for baby & mom. Family & friends each write their own prayer concerning the baby. Hers was done like a scrapbook with each prayer handwritten by each person on pretty paper or mounted on pretty paper. It is wonderful! Many of us wrote long prayers covering specific things we wished for the baby such as good health,... but my Larry (Pawpaw) simply wrote: "May you be blessed with joyful days and peaceful nights." That is a blessing to all of us, as we know that would be his prayer for each of us as well. She will never know him, but she will know he loved her. Congratulations on your future grandbaby! Oh, as I said it was for mother (& for dad too) so prayers for easy delivery and so forth for them to be good parents should/could be included.
hi christy: thanks for your comment this is a good idea because my daughter in law is greek and my son is polish i know the greeks have a different way to doing things so i think i will  have them write their prayers for the baby and for their daughter maybe i will put a sheet of paper on each table and have everyone write a prayer good thinking thanks again

Hi Kathy, congratulations, are you planning on the shower being for both sexes ? this has become the norm latley. When I gave my niece in law one we had it that way. It really turned out to be very nice with 4 genarations there and we had more men then we thought would show, and what was nice they took everything out and loaded it in cars lol trust me it was nice because we had everything from the crib on down. We also had a book for everyone to write in and played the normal games with prizes.Plan what your having to eat,we had a 5 hour event, because it was a big gathering of family both sides some meeting each other for the first time she has a big family and friends. so I did a big buffet and cooked everything and if someone offered to bring something I said sure lol. You can get books with games in them at a party supply store, you can rent or make a wishing well they are cool.there is so much that can be done now days it will boggle the mind. have fun planning it and relax and enjoy yourself at it. Hugs
Kathy,  Congratulations on becoming a grandmother again.  It has been a long time since I have done a baby shower but what about centerpieces for the tables.  You could do baloons or flower or both.  There were games we played at my Karen's shower but I am drawing a blank on what they were.  I will keep thinking, when is the shower.  Cake, of course.  Sometimes you can find nice favors at the dollar stores and they aren't too expensive there.  When is the baby due?  Congratulations again.  How many grandchildren do you have.
