I am very sorry to hear of your loss.  My husband died 3 1/2 years ago and it still feels like yesterday.  But I can tell you this, it will and does get better.  After Douglas died everyone kept telling me this and that it will take time, etc.  I didn't want to hear it or even believe it, but it is true.  Time has a way of healing everything.  Don't rush your grief, let it take the full course.  It is different for everyone.  I still have my "douglas" days and will find myself crying at any given moment for any reason.  But I experience those days less and less.  What I am blessed with are the beautiful memories Douglas and I built and shared together.  Nothing, not even death, can take that away.  May you find peace in your heart and the strength to build your "new" normal, one step at a time.

hi brigitte,   ty for your kind words,i so hope things will get better,my hubby been gone a month,and all i do is cry,about anything,feel like my heart been ripped out,so i hope in time this feeling gets better,ty again ,elaine

Elaine I am so truly sorry for your loss and so sorry you had to join us on this forum, but you will be glad you did.  We all know just how you are feeling. It has been 6 months now since my beloved other half, Don, left this world, and while I do have some "good" days, the grief and pain is as raw as ever.  I pray that in time you will find some peace in your heart.  My thoughts are with you, and I mean that with all my heart.
