This might be a rough time for many of you. Do what you feel you need to do to get through it. Remember, someone is here almost all the time to talk to you.

Just got back from my scrapbooking convention with my sister, was kinda spooky, not as many people and its all anyone talked about, we went to store to get wipes for our hotel room only to come home with Clorox floor pads for a swifter, but hey it worked, we just kept everything wiped down and plenty of hand washing and sanitizer, tried to order groceries from Walmart, when I got home, everything was empty, finally got from a bigger store and delivered, I am self quarantining myself just in case, sure don't want to pass anything around. you guys all stay safe and take care of yourselves

I'm social distancing in that I won't go to a restaurant and will be canceling my plans for this coming Friday night.  I'm supposed to go out with a group of people to a disco night at a local club,  I don't even like disco so I'm not sad about missing that.  I am still going into work even though I have the option of working from home.  The panic buying is out of control here but I have enough already that I don't need to worry about groceries for a couple of weeks.   What was unnerving however was a "shelter in place" in my town last night.  There was a man with a gun behind our local Market Basket.  People are just crazy now.

Chuck and I are social distancing ourselves, we do not go out unless it is to grocery store or CVS drive thru.  No eating out and no social gatherings.

I had purchased discounted airline tickets back in February to fly to Jacksonville, Fl to visit my Aunt and Uncle.  We are not going, the tickets are not refundable and our departure date is 3/23.  Still trying to get a partial refund, when I called Travelosity, I get a recorded message saying they are having technical difficulties and try again later.  Oh well, not going to loose sleep over it.

This morning we were going out early to our local Kroger for staple items, 7:30 in the morning and the lot was full.

We came home, we are both in that high risk level so we are being cautious.

Not scared, just unnerving when each day the news is focused on nothing but the virus.

We have plenty of groceries that are non perishable, so we can wait a week or two before we actually need to go back.

We live in Tarrant county, Ft Worth being the county seat, Dallas county is just next door to our east.  Dallas has begun to take extreme measures similar to other larger cities, while Tarrant county has not except for cancelling larger gatherings over 250, no school closings yet, but the did extend spring week by two more weeks.

Like Mary Jane..."What will be, will be" as the song goes.

To all our legacy family, be safe, take care and remember that "this too shall pass"!

Love and hugs

Hi Sara. Yup, for me, it’s like I have been inside a Stephen King, or Dean Koontz story. The SCALE of this entire thing seems to be jaw dropping. After feeling quiet terror this last week..I am looking at it from a different where this is totally different than other illnesses, as the technology is higher than it has ever been...and the media is having a field day scaring the crap out of us. I am afraid to be around people, I expected a local store to be out of everything..they were NOT...the media shows places that people  are packing the buildings, trying to stock up on everything..parking lots were just full but ..schools are closed, no one is using public transportation ...this is San Fransisco, big city.. why is THIS illness so bad?

Yes, I am freaked. Which seems exactly what is wanted by some unknown I have to get over it!  If I die,I die. Realistically I don,t think it will be as bad as we fear...I stay home, have enough food for awhile, and don,t know anyone who is or was ill, or know OF anyone..andI am rambling.

Sara, I hope you, and everyone won,t get sucked into this, and will be safe. It also occurred to me, that a PANIC might be the thing that is terrible, not the illness.

I wish you all well.

Hi All....I want to check in and make sure you're all safe and healthy.  Not sure about your areas but Mass is pretty much shutting everything down.  I imagine it's the same across the country.

The weather's been nice here in Mass as well. 50's and 60's this week which is unusual. I myself don't enjoy doing yardwork but I do like to be outside and have been able to begin walking at lunch and on weekends.
Deb....enjoy your scrapbook convention and time with your sister

That sounds like wonderful fun! Yes, surprisingly, I enjoy working in the yard! I van’t Do the major stuff, but I have been weeding, watering, I find satisfaction in weeding. Sound weird, but it is instant gratification..when u pull the weed, and it comes right out ..and the yard looks a bit better! I am on my way to do just that! (I have to do a bit at a time, so I don.t mess up my back..but the “turtle” won the race! Lol)

the weather here has been great for the past week, temps in the 50s and 60s, makes me want to work in the yard if it wasn't a mudhole right now and the fact I know we aren't done with winter. I am so an outside person, my mood improves and the laziness disappears when I can be outside without freezing, Im leaving in a week for a scrapbooking convention with my sis, we go for 5 days every year and have such a good time just being with each other so I cant wait

so happy to hear you are feeling better Mary Jane, sometimes it seems we pass a turning point and rechannel the anger and hurt prayers you keep moving forward

Comment by Mary. Jane on March 2, 2020 at 11:13pm

Thank you Sara. Surprizingly, I am ALOT better now. Almost like my anger was a turning point somehow. I am really stunned at who I have been this week..I didn,t sit on my a$$ buying stuff on Amazon..but got up, and DID stuff! Gardened, cleaned the house, I took an interest in my life!

Yes, the IV thing was concerning..but, and I apologize if this comes off careless, but to hospice, it really didn,t matter if I did it correctly or not,  as he was going to die anyway. It was just a matter of time

That was kind of a shock to me, when it dawned on was just before my angry post. He was just one more victim of cancer, and being he was in his 70’s...

i am sure Ken was given more consideration, as he was much younger and stronger. I am sorry you had to go through that.

On a GOOD note...for some unknown reason, I have dreamt about Bob the last 2 days in a row, during my afternoon nap! I was fuzzy when I woke up today, and it was a few minutes B4 I realized he was in my dream, and we had been interacting! Most times, he is just THERE, but we don,t talk. But this time, we were working together on making a gift for Melinda..don’t remember much of it..but months and months of NOTHING, now 2 days in a row!
