This might be a rough time for many of you. Do what you feel you need to do to get through it. Remember, someone is here almost all the time to talk to you.

My dear brother Steve G ...
You are so sweet and the best present I could get it that you make a speedy recovery. Be a good boy and listen to Chuck. LOL
It snowed all night here and have to agree it is so peaceful and muffles the noises that are generally around. It's been raining so it's pretty slippery out there right now and just staying in and tonight put the fireplace on and cuddle up with the dogs. Can't get better than that. We are in for more snow, but we take it as it comes.
I pray always for the both of you and so happy to hear your appetite is much better and you are healing well. The worst is over my friend. I think of both you all the time.
Hugs, Your Sister
Dear Deb ... Thank you so much. I've had so many cancellations for one thing or another so I was having a bit of a pity party all by myself, but it turned out to be a super evening and I feel blessed.
What a wonderful belated birthday!
By the way, Happy Birthday (belated), hugs and best wishes for a better new year.
We had tornado warnings Friday night, and then a cold front Saturday morning with snow flurries for about an hour...so peaceful to watch and calming! Texas weather is so unpredictable.
I am resting and being good, my appetite has returned, each day I am healing.
Dear Marsha, I am so glad your evening went well after all, I think the point of a dinner is just to spend time with family or friends anyway and it sounds like it all worked out in the long run for you, love Deb
Dear Mary Jane ... After I got over the disappointment I was beginning to think exactly like you. You made a lot of sense!
I was blessed because my friend from Vancouver made it to my house and we had a lovely chat. Then my girlfriend from next door decided to come over and things were even better and finally my sister-in-law managed to make it. We had a lot of laughs and I was so spoiled with gifts and a lovely birthday cake. My girlfriends decided to celebrate with a dinner on February 8th. Hopefully no snow.
Around 9:30 it began to snow so one girlfriend had to go as she had quite the drive and soon after my next door neighbor followed suit. My sister-in-law braved it and stayed until after midnight and we sure had some good laughs. So you are right Mary. The dinner didn't really matter and it was laughter with friends.
Hugs to you
I know this might not help..but every time I hare about big plans interrupted by major stuff...I get the feeling, that a higher power is involved, and if u had gone out tonite, on a nice evening, something bad mightnhave happened. So when Major plans don,t come to fruition, think of it as Divine intervention. Who knows?
so you will, celebrate it a few days late...and have a wonderful time...maybe something wonderful and unexpected will happen, that wouldn,t have been possible tonight? Think of it as Kismet! And expect great things in the next few days! Ya never know!
Happy birthday, my friend, and wishing u many many more!
Well my friends I'm convinced I have a black cloud over my head that just won't go away. Firstly, warnings of high winds and a lot of snow. Also -11 temps. Ouch! The young man who shovels my driveway is sick so I guess I'll have to beg a neighbor.
Dinner is off because of the impending snow. My one girlfriend had to drive into Vancouver because a friend of hers was ill, but was still going to go to dinner. From the restaurant we were going to it's still quite a drive for her and I didn't want her to get caught it what the weatherman calls a blizzard. She said she would drop off my gift and if the snow hasn't hit at 8 PM as they said she will stay a bit.
My other girlfriend's boyfriend has to get shots in his knee and had one today and isn't feeling well. Thankfully she lives next door, but just called to say her 105 year old aunt is passing away. She is still coming over though for a little bit.
My sister-in-law hasn't called and I hope she does come, but it's quite the drive so don't want her to get caught in the snow. What a day!
No snow all winter and the first snowfall was on my birthday. Hello God! You playing around! LOL Generally I love the snow, but now that Ernie is gone I'm hard pressed to get anyone to shovel my driveway off and I just can't do it.
Right now the wind is picking up and the skies are clouding up although it was a sunny day, but freezing out.
I went to Safeway to stock up on food and water and the store was jammed. I spent 20 minutes helping some of the elderly in walkers or wheel chairs trying to reach the higher things (why do stores do that?) Got home and thankfully did my housework last night, but the rest can stay as is because I don't know who is coming or not and it could end up being me and the dogs. LOL.
Kathy and I have decided to go to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday in February. Hopefully my other girlfriend can make it. So weird all of this. I am a bit depressed over it all, but it's important to do what you have to do and both of my friends need to be where they should be.
I live 27 miles outside Vancouver, B.C., and generally the snow stays on the mountains. Even the mountains have record snowfalls and avalanches. Lately the snow has started to come into the city and burbs. Vancouver Islands get the worst of it as they are on the coast and everything is open. Sure hope the electricity doesn't go off as predicted.
Thanks for listening. Feeling a little punk about things. Oh well, nature rules.
Mary Jane ... Thanks for the Birthday wishes and they sure are appreciated. I got lots of phone calls, cards and can't complain, but getting to the age I'd rather forget it. LOL
DJ ... I know what you mean and I've had naps after doing a lot of work around the house so don't feel bad. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes and I appreciate it.
