As widows and widowers,we have enough gloom and doom in our lives. We did not come to this site to discuss religion. It is called " Grief Support".And that's all I have to say about it!

You know Charles you obviously didn't read what I wrote and it would seem your actually angry. You don't have to preach to me, especially as some of the other readers are about easter bunnies santa claus and other foolish childrens fairly tales. I lost my wife of 10 years this past Dec. 24. I'm trying to sort things out in my own heart and mind and was simply relaying the perplexing situation I find my self in as it regards death, souls, heaven, etc.. No where in your somewhat attituded response do I see or hear one comment from you as to the reality of the situation. The easter bunny doesn't run heaven, God does. As for those of you who keep on beleiving such nonsense versus the reality of death and what the bible says, or should I say GOD SAYS, are going to find yourselves in a real spot come the judgement day. And finally Charles the question is " what does the bible say happens at the moment of death?" do you know Charles?

I have to ask what point you are making here? You made several statements but no real questions.
If its answers to all this death and grief you seek you know and we all know there are no answers that we can prove.None of us will know in this lifetime what happens at our passing.
I know for me I find peace and comfort in believing that my loved ones are in a better place watching over me until the day I to cross over to the other side and join them.I cannot prove this idea but no one can disprove this idea.
Most of us here are just heart broke and grieving over the loss of our soul mate and trying to get through each day as best we can.
The questions of death have been asked by millions for thousands of years and will continue to be asked.

And one more thing, please understand, I'm not trying to bust anyones bubble or deflat their dreams, I would love nothing more than to know my wife is in heaven safe with the Lord, that she knows I miss her and Love her. I'm just confus3ed and am trying to get real truthful answers.

I'm becoming more and more perplexed as time goes by. I must admit that I have never thought of or studied the areas of the bible as it relates to death in general. One has no doubt heard countless times on the passing of a loved one, " you should be happy, their in heaven with the Lord smiling down on you". The truth of the matter is according to most of what I've read lately on the subject, that in fact is not the case at all. According to everything I have read within the doctrine of christianity, the dead are dead, they take the long sleep until such time that the Lord calls them to their judgement upon their resurection. Their is no soul per say, their not hovering over us protecting us and smiling, they have no memories, they do not dream, they do not contact us in any form or fashion. They are in fact dead, returned to the dust we were made of. They don't come to us in our dreams, they are not spirits or ghosts, and in fact if you see one, God orders us to ignore them because they are in fact demons who in their evil ways seek to trick us. And if you look in the bible thats exactly what it says. The dead are dead!!! So now what???

Grieving is exhausting! It takes so much out of you.You are "strong"I hate that phrase, but you have a full plate right now.Dealing with your husbands death and raising a grandchild. Is there anyone who could help you? Most people want to help you but don't know how.If someone asks don't be afraid to take them up on the offer. As far as the hurt goes ,I'm still waiting.Get some rest and try to find some peace.
