This might be a rough time for many of you. Do what you feel you need to do to get through it. Remember, someone is here almost all the time to talk to you.

I understand Tom. It is something that none of us have ever wanted. I hate the term "widow". I don't know is just a word. I guess it is because I never wanted to be one and truthfully had never given much thought to. There I was blindly thinking we would always be together. I guess I never expected to lose him so soon. Larry was only 57. Some days I feel so cheated, then chastise myself for being so selfish. We were married for 38 wonderful years and I should be grateful for that. I want more!!!!!!!! I am so lonely and feel lost without him. I am very capable of carrying on by myself but some days it is very hard. I am so grateful for everyone on this site, here we can vent, cry and feel safe because everyone understands.
Take care Yvonne

Comment by Janice Kelly on April 12, 2010 at 7:56am name is Jan and I lost my husband of 46 years on this past Valentine's Day. I just found this site, and am looking for help anywhere I can find it. This seemed like a good place to start since every one of you know what I am going through. I'm not even sure if this is where I am supposed to introduce myself. If it isn't, then I apologize, and maybe someone could direct me to the right spot. (I'm not real good with the computer.)

Dear Sheila, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband of 32 yrs in dec to cancer. He was the love of my life and we had a great marriage. we have two sons one lives with me. The other comes to visit and gets upset when I cry I think he thinks I should be done with that now..unless you have been thru it you have no idea. As far as your family just hang in there can u tell your sisters its too much for you now. You need to take care of you now. Its hard but you can do it. Keep your chin up. Better days are least that's what they tell me!!!!! Jan

Last night our middle sons pomeranian was attacked and killed by 2 pit bulls in his yard. I don't blame the dogs I blame the irresponsible owners. He had rescued her from the shelter last June. She was only 1 1/2 years old and had been abused. She was finally settling down and trusting that he would come back when he went to work etc. It was a very hard day...8 months since Larry passed and 19 years for his Dad, and now dear sweet Nikki has passed.
Take care Yvonne

I apologize if our levity may upset some of you. Crying is a release from stress and so is laughter. I try to find something in every day that will make me laugh or smile. It keeps me sane.
