I bet your dad is smiling down just loving that drawing... what an amazing kid you have to draw something like that for Grandpa. my prayers are with you. I am stretching my arms out to you to give you a hug. Just remember on a sunny day...the sunshine on our face is like kisses from him. That is what my best friend said to me about my mom. and now i look forward to a sunny day. not all the time. though cuz i still miss my mom like crazy.

Thank you Stacey, I'll remember the sunny days! he sends me "clouds" sometimes......when I was a little girl, he brought me outside to show me an odd cloud formation called "mammatus" clouds, that happen after a bad storm sometimes. He was an air traffic controller and knew all about different types of clouds. I had not seen that type of cloud before, and have never seen them again in over 30 years......until this past spring. My daughter came running inside one evening after a storm, and said, "mom, you HAVE to come see these clouds! " I knew before I even walked out what they would be, and sure enough, there was a beautiful sunset, framed by these huge, swooping mammatus clouds. I know dad sent them, and since then, I have seen them 3 other times......I think it is amazing that I went all those years with never seeing them ( and I love clouds and notice them every day....I would have remembered those!) I know it something only my dad and I knew about......very special.
I will always treasure this picture my son drew.......I LOVE that he was able to immediately go past his own grief that day and grasp that his Grandpa is still in a happy place . He accepted it , and moved on......he still talks about things he and Grandpa did and shared, and he treasures the many gifts left behind- but he does it with love and whenever he talks of Grandpa, there isn't the sadness, only the joy that He left behind. I look forward to finding that place myself.........jen
