Hi,

I lost my mum Memorial Day.  I have never felt such a loss in my life.  I have been reading through the posts and have read that grief has affected relationships with others.

Well, I'm finding that is happening with me.  I am overly sensitive, and I don't want to push people out of my life.  I get angry very easily.  I know that is part of the grief stages.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tricia

Hi Tricia! I know how you feel. I lost my mom too not long ago as you see in the posts here. I too have furious flashes of anger too! My mom was sick for a while and I smashed a basket of pills she had used. I too am a sensitive person. I cannot stand the f.....ing hackneyed things people will say..."Is there something I can do"..."Be strong" and so on. It does drive me crazy but I think people do not know what to really say in such a situation! What would you or I say?

I too, at times want to be left alone to grieve. I do not want to see anyone! I think it is just a process of the grieving process and it will come and go. I sometimes think the world seems so indifferent and cruel as well! But that is the way it is. The world did not know our moms and goes on it merry way. I hope my thoughts helped!

Regards Frank.
Yes, Frank,
Your words certainly did help. There were a few times at her funeral when I had to stop myself from telling people to leave as it was not a social event, but in honor of my mum's life.

I hate the F'g things people say also. All they have to do is say "I'm sorry for your loss"; "if you need me, I'll be there". No, instead they say yeah, be strong, move forward, don't look back. Uh-huh, sure, like it's that easy.

Thanks, Frank, for your understanding. I don't feel quite as alone!
Best, Tricia

Frank,

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to this. Ditto! If you ever need an ear, I am here.

Hang in there,
Tricia
