My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2009 and the doctors at City of Hope gave her 18 months to live. 3 years and 2 months later my dear Momma succombed to this terribe disease. I noticed a change in my Mom in July 2012, she lost her appetite, she was always tired and very weak. Two weeks before my Mom her primary doctor at City of Hope recommended she stop treatments and get her set up with hospice. We were shocked of the news because just a few months prior we were told the cancer had stabilized. The doctor told her it was ultimatly her decision and to return with an answer the following week. The next week we all gathered at the doctors office to hear what decision my had made and she said she was to tired to continue treatment and just wanted to be able to enjoy whatever time she had without needles and medication. Two days after her decision my Mom was unable to walk on her own, she didn't want to eat and we noticed she had a tough time drinking fluids. On Tuesday September 11, 2012 the hospice staff informed us she would need to be moved into their facility so she can constantly be monitored as her health was declining at a fast rate. My Mom passed away on Thursday September 13, 2012 at 3:41 AM.  She was laid to rest on Saturday September 22 and two weeks after we celebrated her 58th birthday. Words just can't describe the emotions that i have. Til this day i'm still in shock and can't believe she's gone.

Your Mom was only 58. That's so sad! I'm so sorry.

Cancer does suck. I am sorry for your loss. I lost my father this year. He was only 53.
