My mom is still alive at 88 yrs. young. She is prepared for the day she dies. She is DNR and has paid for her cremation and resting place. She has even written her own obit. She has always been a very organized person. She asked me what I would like to have of her belongings so it is all down in her will.
She has inspired me to follow in her footsteps. I am not DNR, however. I still have a lot to live for. I have paid for my cremation and what to do with my ashes. I have a spot in a wall that I have paid for but I feel like I have lived in darkness all my life so I want the majority of my ashes to be spread so I can be free. I have also asked that all my animals ashes be spread so they can be free. I have a person designated to carry out my wishes. I have insurance so they can celebrate my life in style. I have a living will and a will. I need to update my will because a few things have changed.
I am a little nervous because I have to have major surgery this Monday and again in Nov. If you believe in prayer, please pray for me, meditate or whatever you do to reach your Higher Power. Please reach out for me. I am a little nervous because I do not come out of general very easy. Sometimes I have seizures and they have to put me back under.
If you never hear from me again, you will know, other wise, I will be back.
Robin McManus, the fact that you and your mom want to die on your terms and with dignity is commendable, I am in the process of putting my wishes in writing. I have a DNR/DNI(do not intubate) I just have to put in writing what I want done, I know my daughter will not never be prepared for what I want (even though we have discussed it) so I have appointed people to handle this, but enough about me, we can discuss this later.
Just know that I will pray for you before, during and after each surgery. As you are being put to sleep, please say the Our Father (The Lord's Prayer), He we ease your heart and give you peace of mind. I will be thinking and praying for you. Be strong, have faith tge He will guide the surgeon and all in the operating room. When you can, drop a nessage. God bless you and keep you.
Mount Vernon, NY.
Will say a prayer for you , have faith
Jesus Christ, my Saviour and Lord, grant me joyful accceptance of the surgery which awaits me, and let this be the relief and cure which I seek. Make skilled the work of the surgeon and that of his team for it is unto their knowledge and skill that I give myself for healing. I pray you, Lord, that this procedure be without complications and that my recovery will be speedy and complete.I pray this to Jesus Christ, through the intercession of the most Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.
Thank you both for your messages. I really do appreciate them. God bless you oth.
