Jerica, I think it sounds like you were able to release quite a lot of pain!  It's hard to get that kind of release, because our minds- intellects, inhibitions, etc. keep it blocked and held in.  I try to go with it when it happens to me, b/c it's so rare for it to not get stifled.  Today I was kinda there too.  Yesterday another suicide occurred in my community.  I know many of the family members and friends of the family of this boy.  He was 19.  Please keep the loved ones of this young man in your prayers and thoughts.

Donna, So far, I located this info for you. You might be able to ask the AZ contact how to get one in your area.

So Gary, when are you starting our new Legacy group, Out Of The Darkness!  I like it!

Donna, I submitted an inquiry to the national AFSP on how to get one in your area.  I will let you know when I receive a reply.

Joyce, I'm glad to hear how well you fared yesterday.  Doing the walk will have a positive affect, I believe.  Promoting AFSP over the past couple weeks has really helped me to feel more empowered again to impact the world around me, and I hope it will be the same for you.  We are venturing out on new paths, applying our experience with suicide in ways we hope will benefit and improve life for others.  What is your fundraising link if you have one?  Could you post it here for us who would like to participate with you through giving donations?

PS- sorry about all the repetitious postings.  I kept trying to reduce the size of the font, but couldn't figure out a way!

Here's what it looks like when I posted it to my Fb page.  Let me know if you need any guidance navigating the AFSP OOTD signup.

  • Please visit my page and support the work of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Thanks - Teri, Charles' mom.

Hee hee!  I've been at this for a few months now actually!  I think I had posted something about it here in this column a few weeks ago.  It's getting closer to the date of the event, so I've spent the last couple of weeks promoting it on my Facebook and various interest groups.
