Jane P. said… Betty Jean, I am so sorry for your loss. Two weeks after my father passed my mother was diagnosed with cancer and I became her primary caregiver for 10 months until she passed and I felt as though I hit a brick wall from always running to nothing, it just stopped. But within three months my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I again became the primary caregiver for 17 months but he too lost his battle and passed nine months ago and I again found myself hitting that brick wall.
Allow yourself to grieve, allow yourself to cry and allow yourself the understanding your feelings are real. Try not to make any major decisions until you feel you are able to cope. You will travel through a roller coaster full of emotions and it will take baby steps to move forward. Caregiving is a very hard 24/7 job and unless you have done this job you truly will not understand. I will pray for you at this time. Hugs, Jane P
