So sorry to hear about your dad. I don't think you ever get "past" an event such as suicide. It does mark your soul. However, if you let go of the idea that you have to move past it, then perhaps you will be able to relegate those thoughts to a small corner of your mind and brain. You can then be in charge of when you look at it/think about your dad rather than it being a thought that takes up your whole being and which doesn't allow you room to breathe freely.
