My husband just resently lost his mother on June 2ND, 2010. Mom was 86 years old, but we did not exspect for her to pass. My husband has totally changed his whole personality. He has been distant and tells me he wants to be left alone and that he feels nothing. Should I back off or do I continue to try and reach him? He continues to work and get through his days but just is very distant in our relationship. Him and I always had a wonderful relationship but now things are strained. What I am trying to find out is, is this a normal reaction to grief, or has his loss turned into a mid- life crises?? He is starting to evaluate all aspects of his life.
I am very concerned and love him dearly and only want to do all I can to support him, but can't seem to reach him. Can anyone give me some advice on this matter?
