I'm so sorry, Liz! My husband of 40 years, Tom, died in March of 2009. I know how impossibly lonely you feel.I try to go out with my friends for breakfast or lunch several times a week as well as spending time with my grandchildren. I also see a therapist who is a widow herself, which helps me to believe that life will get better for me as it has for her. I can vent without worrying that my grief will upset people who love me. I guess we all need time. If I can help, just let me know. Gaye

Liz,My husband died 9/13/09,we were married for 44yrs.I stayed busy, getting paper work in order, sorting through his "treasures"and doing yardwork. But every night I still have to climb into the bed alone.I sleep really well from sheer exhaustion but there is nothing to fill this void.Do you work? That seems to give me a reason to get up every morning.Good luck, this is such an awful process to go through.I also write on his memorial page at legacy.com,I use that as a journal.I can put my daily thoughts down and not burden family and friends.Maybe a journal of some kind would help.Of course this site has helped me tremendously.Best wishes,Kathleen
