PLEASE DO NOT CHAT FOR 30 MIN TO THE FAMILY OF THE DECEASED DURING VISITATION THIS IS NEITHER THE TIME NOR PLACE FOR SUCH THINGS, TELL THEM "YOUR SORRY FOR THEIR LOSS AND YOU WILL SPEAK TO THEM LATER", IN MOST CASES THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND YOU WAITING TO VIEW THE DECEASED AND SPEAK TO THE FAMILY AS WELL, TO ME THIS IS THE MOST RUDE THING TO DO AT FUNERALS/VISITATIONS. At 9:45am on February 3, 2010, Holli Overton said…: This is not being ugly in anyway, but my father was a "Pastor" until his death 3 years ago so I've had the "misfortune" of attending many, many funerals due to this, My mom and I were talking the other day that someone needed to have a class on how to "act" at visitations and funerals and our pet peeve was that when you are going through the line at to greet the family and view the deceased please DO NOT stand in the line and talk to the family about your problems or the "good ole times" there are people behind you that are waiting to see the family also some are elderely that can't stand for long periods of time, and some people end up not even getting to see the family because of this, and also the family is worn out as it is, and I assure you will not remember when you walk away WHAT EXACTLY YOU HAVE SAID, the only thing on their mind is the person they are fixing to be without the rest of their natural lives, so please if you want to "chat" it up, the visitation line at funerals is NOT the place or TIME to do it.......
