He served his term in Vietnam and came back at 19 addicted to heroine and got in some trouble and they denied his benefits. they said he was not insane when he finished his tour. My claim was how can you make rational decisions at 19 on heroine that you got addicted to serving your country. We finally hired a laywer and he started working on it and then Barry died and I was told it died with the veteran

At 2:52pm on January 7, 2010, ellen said…: Kim, my husband was 57 and I am 48 he served in Vietnam and we had been fighting for VA benefits for 3 or 4 years and I am sad to say the Government won and he died before the appeal process could be finished. He had diabetis also and he had developed a heroin addiction in Vietnam. He got himself off drugs but had other issues related to service. He died 12/15/2009. The pain is so intense I can't deal with it. I just wanted you to know you are not alone
