are you the Karen that needed a check list - don't yet know how to respond to the ones that get emailed to me - don;t know where or how to reply - hope this is you. in a rush now as have to get car into a transmission place - but i have had to do this with no help twice now. Dad and then my Mom. Don't know what all you have done so far but check their will to see if there are any details of info on what your parents wanted for their funerals. Check address bks for phone no. for people to call to invite or to inform if necessary. Get help with this. Ask advice from parents siblings or for suggestions. Ask if anyone wants to speak. Start writing a eulogy. Call the papers, arrange for flowers if needed or wanted, a vocalist if needed or wanted. perhaps read a favorite poem or have someone read one. Have certain close friends arranged to tell their fav story. Call a videographer if you want it on a CD to relax and listen to the tales later when you feel more like it and are able to hear the jokes and stories better later in the comfort of your own private home. I enjoyed this more later so had it taped for my Mom and was able to send to family and friends who could not attend. Funeral homes will also usually help you to know the check list. They help you to order the death certificates and all that. God Bless and/or good luck with it all if you do not believe but I do.
