It's been 6 yrs. since I lost my son to suicide...it's getting better. I realized that if I keep beating myself up, then there is just going to be more pain for those around me who love me and watch it happen. I mean, they all try to be a comfort and encouragement AND they are but ultimately, the choice is up to me whether I accept the forgiveness offered by my God/Creator OR if I decide to sit in the darkness of regret and guilt. It's a black and white decision when it comes down to it. This is not meant to be a "pep talk" and it might sound that way, I'm just sharing what I've learned and how I think. It's hard and sad for sure...but it can't be changed. It must be accepted eventually and believe me, it takes time and courage and support and love. Get all of it you can and be thankful for all you get.
