Dear Prudence - I lost my only child, my son Tyler, at age 24 on 01/26/10. That was the day my life stopped. I notice that you are in New Milford. I live in Bethel and work in Ridgefield! How old was your son? He is so handsome. Did he live at home? Tyler had graduated from college one year before and was living at home at the time. I would love to correspond with you. In addition, I want to make you aware of a great support group I attend in Danbury. It is through Healing Hearts of Danbury and it is for parents who have lost adult children. We meet every week on Wednesday - one week at 1:00pm and the next at 6:00pm so that working paretns can attend. It is a great group and we have formed some deep bonds. There are parents who are in their second or third year of loss, and those that are very new. The facilitator is Laurie Petrosante. You can call Healing Hearts and ask about it. It would be great to see you there! In the meantime, I will be praying for your and your son.
