My life has changed forever
My life changed forever. I lost 3 important men in my life in 2006. I lost my brother-in-law in a automobile accident He would have been 29 the same month of his accident. I lost my grandfather to cancer in October and then in December I lost my favorite uncle. First let me introduce you to these men. My brother-in-law who I'd watched grow up from a boy to a man. When I met him he was about 13 years old. You know the saying the OUT Laws not the IN laws. In my case not true. My brother-in-law was like my brother, my friend. His heart was like non other. Let me tell you what I mean. A couple of times I brought my daughter (his niece) to dance school, I would get ready to pay, and the owner would stop me and say don't worry her uncle stopped by and paid for this month. I would never forget that. See what I mean, a heart like non other. He had this goofy laugh that I would never forget. Guess what, my daughter has that same goofy laugh. I really miss him.
My grandfather who I lost to cancer. A man who was great to me. He was 78 when he passed away. When he met my grandmother her first husband had died and left her with 5 children. One of the 5 was my mother. They became a young couple adding on 4 more children to the family. He raised my mom and her 4 brothers as if they were his own. It wasn't until I was 15 that I found out that he wasn't my mom's biological dad. Im the first grandchild so of course I was really close to him. When I got married my grandfather walked me down the isle. I really miss him.
My favorite uncle had a heart attack. He was one month shy of 41 years old. He recovered in the hosptial for 3 days, sitting up, talking, and walking. On the 4th day he had a Massive heart attack. This time he didn't make it. We were 10 years apart. We talked about everything. When I was younger when he came from school he would watch cartoons with me. He was more like my older brother than my uncle. No one understood him like me. He would question me about guys I dated and I would question him about the women he dated. Just like a sister and brother. My uncle never left home. He and my grandfather were very close. When my grandmother died my uncle said that he would never leave my grandfather alone. My uncle was 18 when my grandmother died. WIERD thing happen after my grandfather died. My aunt said she was washing dishes when she smelled my grandfather's smell. She then heard his voice say "Don't worry about your brother I'm coming to get him". See we knew without my grandfather my uncle could not make it. A month and a half later my uncle passed away. He had never been sick a day in his life. The thing that hurts me the most is that I couldn't attend my grandfather nor my uncle's funeral. Because of financial reasons. To this day I still have a pain in my heart because I couldn't go. I cry sometimes because I don't have my uncle to talk to. My grandfather who made the best Cornbread Dressing for Thankgiving. My brother-in-law to make me laugh. I REALLY MISS THEM.
