My Beautiful Daughter

Posted on January 18, 2010 at 10:26pm 4 Comments

My daughter Ashley was everything to me. She wasn't just my daughter, she was my very best friend. As she was growing up we became close and remained that way. Ashley was diagnosed in 2005 with a brain tumor. It was benign but due to the craniotomies she went through, she had deficits. It never changed her nor the loving way she was. In 2007, Ashley had went through radiation, due to residual tumor that they could not remove. She stayed strong, did well though her pituitary ended up non… Continue

Hi Teresa...thought I'd stop by and leave a comment.  I hope you are able to find some peace, I know it's hard because I feel the same way.  Stay strong, HUGS to you!!!!

I'm so sorry for your loss.  My daughter was also my best friend and someone that I shared a lot of inside jokes with.  We had a very similar sense of humor not everyone else "gets".  It's only been a month for me, and it's so very painful.  Most of the time I don't let myself think about it.  Autumn lived in her own apartment about 45 minutes from me, so most of the time it's likes she's just at her apartment.  When it hits me, I can't breath.  I can't imagine it ever getting easier.  My brother died when I was 15 and my mom has been a great support.  She keeps telling me there is nothing worse, but time does help.  I guess we'll all see how much time it takes each of us, I'm sure it's different for everyone.

Thank you for writing to me, I really appreciate it.

Teresa, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know very well the not knowing what happened. I don't suppose I'll ever know who Jon went to lunch with and if they or anyone else tried to help him when he choked, went into cardiac arrest and ended up brain-dead. For the sake of one of my remaining sons, I didn't pursue an attorney but to this day and always, I will consider it neglegence. No straight answers and too many people thinking he was fine and getting to the hospital to find him the way he was. I am so, so sorry for anyone that has to live this never-ending nightmare. Another day, I might share hope but today has been a bad day and I'm really feeling my loss.
