I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. She is adorable. I lost my 7wk old son, Noah, to SIDS 28yrs ago. There were some key things that helped me through. The first thing was, we called the paramedics and when they came, they explained to us that all babies have some sleep apnea and what they thought(at least back then) is that in some babies the mechanism that makes them start breathing again isn't fully developed. They told me that there was nothing we could have done, that it wasn't our fault. When our pastor arrived he told us that we were going to get mad at God and that was ok. He understands. He lost a son too. The other thing that really helped me, was I went to the library and read all I could find on SIDS. I read all the horror stories of blame and of parents being charged with murder because there babies were bruised from them trying to reccessitate them. I tried even though I knew he was gone. I even changed his wet diaper. Noah was a very healthy baby. He had just been in for his 6 week checkup and was doing great. I know it's easier to blame someone or ourself because that would make sense. I had never even heard about it until a week before he died from it. If you would like to share about her or what your feeling, I am one who does truely understand this type of pain. I also lost my oldest son, Jon, June 29,09 from a choking accident. I never got details. I'm sure there are still SIDS support groups out there. My email is Hugs of Hope, Kathy
