Often when a loved one dies, we don't know how to react. The pain is so intense that in the moment there is nothing anyone can say or do to bring relief. You're hurt and it takes time to work through the pain. Even Jesus, although perfect is said to have "gave way to tears" (John 11:35) at seeing the pain behind the death of his friend. When we loose a loved one, everything stops. That is why death is such an enemy. In times like these, many have found it comforting to hear what the God of all Comfort, Jehovah, says. At Psalms 34:18 the Bible says, "Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart and those crushed in spirit he saves." Right now your heart is broken because of your loss. When it mentions he is near, he knows your heart and will help you bear this loss. Please read in your own copy of the Bible Isaiah 25:8, which says: "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces." When Jesus was here on the earth, he showed us on a small scale how this would be done. The Bible also shows us at Revelation 21:4 where Jehovah promises, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning not outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." At John 5:28, 29, Jesus said: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out... "By means of the resurrection Jesus showed that soon those loved ones we have lost in death will live again. I hope thses scriptures have been of comfort to you. I want to thank you for allowing me to be used by God to bring comfort to you. Please use your Bible to find more comforting Scriptures and ways to help you. I will keep you in my prayers.
