I lost my Husband,Gordy on November 19th,2009 after a 10 year battle with cancer. He had part of his left lung removed in may of 1999. Then cancer came back-this time non-hodgkins lymphoma in 2002 and then squamous cell lung cancer in his right lung last october. Gordy fought a hard battle- never complaining what he was dealt with- in fact -his oncologist used to tell him -its all about attitude. We lived each day like it was his last. We traveled to fla, cancun, did cruises, atlantic city,foxwood-ct,weekends away. We could be thinking about how we should do this or that and then did it. Nothing would stop him or us. Gordy was a fighter.
Gordy was in the hospital last sept from 09/08/09 thru 09/23/09 then 10/03/09 thru 11/10/09 then 11/16/09 thru 11/19/09-this time he couldnt bounce back.
Its been a tough year. On 11/19/2009, I will look back at what I have accomplished on my own since his passing. I will also look around me and see that Cancer is gone.
Lasy year i went out and got 2 tattoos 2 days afterr his funeral. People thought i was nuts but I always wanted one but just the idea of the pain - Gordy always told me you want one ,get one- so I did- A rose with the stem forming a G and a dolphin. This year I am going to attempt to have another one done - possibly a butterfly with the cancer ribbon going thru-half pearl for lung cancer and lime green for lymphoma. This will be done on 11/19/2009 in his memory.
