Hi Virginia.....I saw your post to Cynthia Pearl. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm going to assume Micah was your son although your post didn't say that. I myself don't have any children. I lost my husband in January after 30 years together. I still feel the loss of a child trumps all other losses and knowing the pain I'm in, I can't imagine how much more difficult it is for you. Since I don't have children, I can't offer any words that may help other than I do believe in the afterlife. At this time, I'm so grateful that I've always believed in God and the afterlife because if I didn't, I don't know where I would be. What gets me through each day is knowing that my husband and I will be reunited when the time is right. I also know my husband's spirit is with me always. Just tonight I asked him to send me a sign because I needed it and 2 hours later he came through for me. I believe the same is true of your son. He's watching over you and when the time is right, you'll be with him again. In the meantime, try to look for the signs he's sending that he's there. They may not be obvious, but once you start looking you'll see them. You may also want to join the group for people who have lost children. It may help you to connect with people who can better understand the loss you're suffering. I'm part of the Bereaved Spouses group and if it wasn't for these people I call my Legacy family, I don't know where I'd be now. To see the groups available, go to community and then groups.
