Today,May 28 ,4 yrs ago, anniversary of my brother. You left us without a goodbye,I saw you one day before you left forever,I'd never imagine.I would've kissed you, hugged you tight, told you how much you mean to me and most importantly that I LOVE YOU.I keep replaying in my mind that day you left, the day you were found in the lake.I keep going back there, hoping I'll find an answer, but no answer is to be found.I went back then to a Medium, but she had no answers for me,I was disappointed, drove…Continue

In the wake of my 27-year-old son's death 25 years after we lost his dad, I've started a podcast. I hope others will share their stories so that we can create a community in which others share their experiences of grief as a thin place.
My name is Stephen H. and I recently lost my husband, Michael. He passed away on January 29, 2018, at the age of 47 years after battling with alcoholism. My husband was introduced to and enjoyed clogging for many years. He transitioned from perfumer to instructor in which he taught many students the enjoyment and love of clogging. Michael, along with fellow performers, had the honor and opportunity to perform at the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, TN. Alongside and beyond clogging,…Continue

It's painful and when I hear of another person dying I am reminded of that pain... I can only get comfort by not only by the support of family and friends but God. He feels our pain 1 Peter 5:7 and I know that one day I will be hugging them and kissing them in paradise John 5:28, 29

Well last month was the 6 year passing anniversary of my brother Mike. I've learned a lot about grief on this journey. I do know for sure that time really has not made any of this any better. It may have been 6 years, but the pain on some days is so Raw and so real it still takes me a minute to ground myself and be okay. I quoted on Feb 10/2018 "that my love for you lives in my grief for you" I think is true for me. Overall I am still so grateful for having mike in my life for 32…Continue

Seems like no time has gone by at all. Not crying hysterically everyday...just crying everyday, Still thinking about him everyday and wondering if he is doing okay where he is and if he is busy. I am not busy except in my mind and the daily chores that require attention...the dogs, snow shoveling, dentist, shift at work...stuff I was doing before he passed. Feels like floating around in the sea sometimes calmly and then getting slapped by a wave. I was told today that I have to move…Continue

Many people are not religious and have no idea they have choices when it comes to Memorial Services. As a Celebrant I have presided over traditional and non traditional ceremonies.

Is there a more active grief support community on the web? Though a couple of people have said hello each time I sign in I'm usually the only person online. So far I'm feeling even more alone. I'm not a member f Facebook, my beloved husband John and I both had strong reservations regarding that sort of social media. In my rural community I've come up with nothing. And had hoped to at least find a thriving online one. Might there be another I've not found?
My name is David Wishart (pronounced wish-art, on left in profile picture). My husband John Wishart (on right in picture) died recently and I've found myself suddenly completely alone, isolated, and without purpose. There is no routine for me to go back to. I'm here, a gay male widower, looking for any possible support group where I can be welcomed, feel comfortable, and talk with others who might identify with me.
(Philippians 4:6, 7) Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.

The funeral is the moment when bereaved families mourn their deceased beloved. Friends, colleagues and the extended family relatives join up together with the closest relatives to mourn and comfort each other. It is noteworthy that people are different. Thus they…Continue
