My Son

On July 7th 2010 we lost our youngest child to suicide. He had just turned 20 on June 25th. I will remember that day for the rest of my life. Every detail. Does the pain ever stop? My son was the strongest person I knew. I never thought he would do this to himself. He loved his family very much and he said this in his note but he also loved someone else more and that person would not return those feelings fully. People say in time we will start healing but right now I cant see that far in the… Continue

I don't want him to be gone.

I don't want to see a butterfly and think it's a message from Jason. I want Jason. I want to see him, hear his voice, feel his hugs, hear him laugh, see him smile. I don't want him to be gone.

REMEMBERING Lewis W. Bowker Jr., 1939-2010

</byl>BY MARY KLAUSmklaus@patriot-news.com

Lewis Bowker Jr. waltzed through his two careers as easily as he danced with his wife of 41 years while they chaperoned Trinity High School proms.

The Hampden Twp. man served 27 years in the U.S. Army, retired as a colonel, then spent 10 years as a high school math teacher.

My Daughter, Candace Rae Watson. Just turned 30 years old. (put 39 accidentally!)THIRTY YEARS OLD

Candace turned 30 years old on February 11, 2010. Her and her husband were having a b-b-q- w/friends and enjoying some beers. They got into an arguement so he took their 3 little girls and left. When he didn't come back for a while she took some of his pills the dr had given him for his shoulder. When he came back the next morning she was sitting in front of the tv with the game control in her hands. she was gone. Neither the beer nor the pills would've killed her alone, together it was FATAL!!… Continue

Mom connecting with me!

September 25,2010~ I went with my best friend of 40yrs to the Field of Dreams~Fallball has started, Lisa's 19yr old daughter Annie was playing, the day was really nice she found a table to sit where there was a little breeze and watch the kids socialize and play ball.

The hometown cheerleaders came out to cheer on the players, it was really nice to see them cheer since my daughters were once on the same squad.

Annie knows the game well and is trying to advance to the next level…

Lighting the Candles

I just learned about lighting candles for those that have passed. I gathered three candles for my grandpa, grandma, and Jason. As I lit each one I said I miss you and I love you. I then turned on the radio and the first song to come on was Amazing Grace, Jason's favorite hymn. I decided to change the station to country (the only other station I can get) and the next song to play was If I Die Young.

Happy Birthday Sis

Last night after midnight, I heard the water running for the ice maker, it also has a water dispenser. I thought how odd because I hadn't used any ice. Later when I went to the kitchen there was water in the floor in front of the refrigerator. I cleaned up the water and rolled the refrigerator out to see if there was water underneath and also to check for leaks on the hoses. Nothing, no leaks, no water. And nothing since. Was it a coincidence? I don't know but it is my daughters birthday today.… Continue

Why is it so hard to look at his pictures? Is it normal to think this is not real? I'm still waiting for him to call text or walk through the door ans tell me all is ok.....

Cameron..My Son, My Life

Cameron was just 1 1/2 months shy of 22 when he passed away. We live in California and he had gone to Denver to pick up his car the last time I saw him. I gave him a hug good-bye on Wednesday night and the next time I saw him was a week later when he was returned home to me. The weeks and months following have been a blur.

Cameron was my baby, I had him when I was 34 and I was devoted to him. He was a happy, popular guy that everyone loved.… Continue

10 Platitudes Never To Say To A Mourner

After the loss of a loved one, friends and family rush to comfort the bereaved. They want to do and say the right thing in order to help the most. However, sometimes they are not quite sure exactly what is necessary to accomplish that task.

In society, we often hear platitudes such as, "Time heals all wounds." or "God needed your loved one." In truth, these statements do not ease the pain of the mourner.

It certainly is not the intention of friends and family to bring more… Continue

my mother

I lost my mother last tuesday september 14, 2010. she was 86 years old. My father died 11 years ago. I miss my mother so much. Its like a big part of me left with her. I know my loss is very recent but how long will it hurt me. I think about her everyday and i visit her grave everyday. I want her to be here with us. My siblings and i took care of her from day one when she got sick. we kept her at home as she requested. I know time does heal but how long.
