Age 6 - Lost Both of Parents

I was watching a link some one shared with me. It was about a six year old boy that lost both of his parents. He is now being raised by his aunt. He is so amazing. He said although he is sad he wants to give everyone little toys on the street to make them smile. The news report said that everyone on the street that is not smiling he give them this special toy. They either smile or cry and give a hug hug. This little boy finds his joy in giving. What a find example for us all. There is more…

Anxiety Leads to Death

I was reading about a study that was done. It mentioned that anxiety leads to premature death. This is so true when I was younger my paternal grandfather died. After he died my grandmother did not get out of bed. She went to doctors and they said nothing was wrong with her.... She died of a broken heart five years later. This was the first time and only time I saw my father cry. My aunt just recently died unexpectedly and I know it was caused by anxiety......We can only pray for God to help…

He Jumped Off The Golden Gate Bridge

I met this someone today, He names is Kevin Hines . At the age of 19 in 2000, he tried to end his life by jumping off this bridge.

The sad thing is that he describes people seeing him crying and on the ledge and no one stopped him. Now he speaks about suicide prevention.

No one likes to talk about this but this is real. I am glad I am a mental aid first aider.  I lost a friend to suicide by gun shot wound to the head.  Now, I want to help prevent suicide.

I encourage…

Grief

We all grieve differently... We all may face the same traumatic experiences but may deal with it differently.. I think of death. Some are afraid to let go of the intense grief, believing that it may indicate their love for the deceased one is diminishing. Letting go of the pain makes way for treasured memories that will remain with us. I want to remember good memories and I still am—Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4.

School Shootings- Sign of Critical Times

I want to first of all say that my heart goes out to the families that have lost some one in the recent shooting. I can only imagine the pain that families feel when they lose their child in a place that they thought was safe. It probably only triggers ugly memories of past school shootings.

"A wide-ranging survey of 169 schools in Hamburg, Germany, tried to discover the causes of rising aggression at institutions of learning. Why are schools reporting extortion, intimidation, bodily…

Blog: Stay Close to Family & Friends

I recently lost a aunt who was a very wonderful lady. I can kick myself for not reaching out a little more. All of us have loss someone very close to us. We have loss moms, dads and sisters and brothers. We have lost aunts and uncles. We have lost husbands and wives. Losing a friend can be just as hard. Especially if that one has been there for you through thick and thin. So folks never take those positive influences for granted. (Proverbs 18:24)

Social Media and Suicide

When I was younger I did not know I was a victim of bullying until now. Even to this day, I still carry a scar both emotionally and physically. Now, there is such things as cyberbullying. Wow, is this damaging and if not caught can lead to suicide. I am not a parent but I see and read the effects of this type of bullying. I hope parents get a wake up call and really monitor what their kids put on social networking websites. If I was damaged by one, I can not imaging the effects when you are…

Blog Post: Get Over It Before It's Too Late

Today, I was thinking about two movies I watched. One was about a girl who was biracial (mom was black and dad was white). She was ashamed of being black and treated her mother badly. When her mother died, she cried worst than the other people and said "MOM I AM SO SORRY".... The other movie involved a couple who had a terrible fight and then the husband died in a car accident. The wife had a nervous breakdown and blame herself.... A valuable lesson that teaches us that peace is so vital .…

Personal Blog- Death Culture

TV programs  was revised to protect young people from seeing material that might affect them adversely. The result has been counterproductive. So much violence on TV! ..Sadly, some parents have become passive on what they allow their children to watch on TV. Then, they wonder why their kids are so violent in school.  Many kids play violent video games that kill people. This was definiely not part of God's plan for us. I am looking forward to the time when God will make all things new and rid…

Blog: Coping through Song

My wounds are deep and slow to heal

My load is hard to bear

Despondent thoughts and disappointed hopes

have left me weak

O God of comfort ...care for me

Do raise me up and help me endure ,

When I'm in doubt  make my hope sure

From deep dispair I turn to you

Jehovah my God my strength renew

Psalms 4:1 NWT

Blog- VA Shootings

My heart goes out to the families and friends of the reporters that lost their lives. Its very sad that people have to harm people to get their point across. This does not solve anything and it makes matter worse. Then to find out the man comitted suicide after the shootings. We only can pray and push (pray untill something happens) that things will get better soon. I weep for the victims today NWT Romans 12:15

Personal Blog: Pain

As I do some reading today, I came across something interesting. We all experience pain due to the death of our close friends and family members... Some experience pain daily. On a positive note, we never know what encouragement we may get from day to day. All we can do is take one day at a time and not let that pain overtake us or cripple us. We can have hope that God will swallow up our pain forever NWT Isaiah 25: 8. This has strenghten me today......

Today's Thoughts - Don't Wait Till It's Too Late To Say Good Things

As I read a post that talks about how we should make mends before its too late, I think about how I need to remember that our speech can pierce like a sword... Then I think is it really worth saying things that are hurtful... No its not! Make mends now before they are gone NWT Proverbs 16:24... I appreciated that reminder.
