----“The Age of Melancholy?”, Dr. Gerald Klerman explains: “The three most common social support systems have been the family, the church, and the immediate neighborhood. . . . It is a characteristic of the present time that all three of those social support systems are in various degrees of disarray.”
However, there is someone that we can always count on(Psalms 34:18)

As I listen to the news , I hear of a celebrity's sister dying of an overdose. Earlier in the month, someone in my town also overdosed. Depression is a serious thing and it can not be ignored. Life in general ( financial, illness, bullying etc.) can cause us to be depressed because some feel is just no hope. Sufferers often wonder, does God even care? Yes, he does and he feels our pain. (Zechariah 2:8)

Some of our well meaning friends and family may say ," it was for the best." Then, you might think, " I can not believe they said that!" You want to punch that person in the face but, you remember to stay calm. Yes, it's true many of our friends and even family members have said the craziest things when tragedy strikes. Remembering the principle at Ecclesiastes 7:21 will get us through.

At times people say the strangest things:
" I know how you feel"
"You need to get over it"
"You can remarry"
"You can have another child"
And sometimes you feel like saying "be quiet!" You do not know how I feel. Just leave me alone! I was encouraged not to take things to heart ( Ecc. 7:21) because I realize that some people just do not know what to say... I realized that I should also not isolate myself (Proverbs 18:1). It could be dangerous.…Continue

Can you see with your mind’s eye,
Peoples dwelling together?
Sorrow has passed. Peace at last!
Life without tears or pain.
Sing out with joy of heart!
You too can have a part.
Live for the day when you’ll say,
“Life without end, at last!”
In those days old will grow young,
Flesh revived as in…Continue

I was reading a scriptural thought today and once again I was reassured that bad things we suffer do not come from God. Many people say that God needed one more angel... God as plenty of angels! (even myriads)..... I do believe my love one is sleeping , in God's memory and will be awoke again someday.... God does not take our love ones away (James 1:13) Satan's the blame of our suffering..

Thought for today
"Long term planning makes future adjustments less traumatic"
Many of our parents are getting older and living longer. Some may need assistance. Advance planning on the family part will cause less trauma in the future. We do not have to make hasty decisions if we plan for the future. It is very important to get their input. You will rest easier because you know this is what everyone wanted......

When I was younger I did not know I was a victim of bullying until now. Even to this day, I still carry a scar both emotionally and physically. Now, there is such things as cyberbullying. Wow, is this damaging and if not caught can lead to suicide. I am not a parent but I see and read the effects of this type of bullying. I hope parents get a wake up call and really monitor what their kids put on social networking websites. If I was damaged by one, I can not imaging the effects when you are…Continue

Sometimes even the best of friends and family decide they want to tell you how and what you should do after the death of a loved one...I know they mean well but its seems like they do not listen ....More listening and less talking my dear family and friends (James 1:19) Just venting.....
