I had a memorable Mother's Day in 1996. My daughter, Julia had died in January of that year. But a friend of mine, Chris, called to see how I was doing. Chris's son had died a few years ago. So, she knew my pain. We talked, shared and cried about our deceased children. I have learned to reach out and comfort others who are grieving. Giving comfort to others in a time of tears makes helps ease my own pain.
