My friend "Joe" has asked me whether or not it would be proper to attend a visitation IF: a former friend's father unexpectedly passed away from a freak accident. "Joe" and his former friend have not spoken in at least a year due to a major argument with many bitter feelings. "Joe" was not friends with the deceased, but had spoken to him many times at group events. "Joe" does occasionally speak with the former friend's wife and young daughter as they have been friends for years. Would it be insensitive for "Joe" to attend the visitation?
