I lost my wife of fifty years on December 20, 2009. She had been treated for a bad back, shoulder problems for months and even had surgery. On December 14, she suffered a major heart attack in the hospital emergency room. There was nothing they could do there, so after three days she was transferred to University of Michigan Hospital but they were also unable to do anything so on Sunday morning the 20th they called us in and told us there was nothing more could be done, so they pulled the life support and she peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
It has been difficult for me to adjust for the two children and on Grandson we have. I cannot do the things she did. Christmas was such a big things with her and she went all out. She put the little flags on each side of the garage sometime in early December with the jingle bells and the holiday decorations. They are still there, I can't bring myself to take them down. I know she was hurting when she put them up, but it was important to her. I try to make holidays as good as I can, but I am not her and things are different. I know I will join Her someday, I look forward to that.
