After 13 years together  my beloved Alberto died on Aug 16. He was a shy but very charming man who loved his family and who loved me.

I have lots others whom I loved dearly parents, a nephew, and best friends. No loss prepares you lose the one to whom you come home every night. He will no longer kiss me when I walk through the door at the end of the day. He will no longer tell me simply "get some rest" as I head  up to bed. He will no longer press his cold feet against me and say "let's snuggle." All that and so much more is gone from my life never to  return.

I did not know it was passible to be so lonely or to miss someone so much.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your partner Alberto!Your message is so heart warming with so much love. Indeed, I understand how much you miss him.

Today Nov 5th is 5 years and 7 months that the police came to our door to let us know that our only child passed. Joe was on his way home where he lived with my mother (she passed 3 years ago this Nov. 19) I've lost many people even my only sibling 20 years ago this month. My father had such a big character that sometimes he is still here after 24 years. I've continued doing what I did before it all my losses and keep on keeping on. I just thought I'd let you know why I'm on Legacy.

Getting back to you and Alberto. I have never read such an incredibly beautiful message from anyone about someone they love. How I wish I could have a cat or a dog. However, I had asthma and allergic to pets. Nonetheless, we have what we call a rent a cat. My husband never liked cats a few years ago he was walking about a mile away from our home. A friendly cat came to him whenever he passed by and he developed a connection with the cat. This same cat moved directly across the street from us. Frankie comes and visits us and I look forward to talking with her (yes her) and petting Frankie. My husband really likes Frankie too as sometimes she hangs out but mostly just walks in the garage to look for mice. My point to this story is if you don't have a cat or dog and are not allergic as I am then maybe you would think of going to an adoption agency and get one that you connect with. I hope you don't mind but my heart goes out to you. You are warm individual and need love. I feel so cheated because I can't have a pet. Take good care of yourself. Barbara
