New Member- I Lost my mom and dad

I am just looking to meet people my age who are going through what I am. I lost my father when I was 16 and my mother at 17, I've been on my own since that. I cant describe how I feel and none of my friends I can relate to because they have never been through it. Im now 21, working and going to school full time trying to stay positive and move forward. It would be nice to meet, talk to people who are going through what I am, so we could be there for eachother.

Hope to hear from you!

The antibiotics are just now kicking in, I hope my cough medicine does the same soon.

Britini, I hope you are doing better.

If you want to, tell me about your Mom and Dad.

A great source to know your parents as people is to ask their friends, friends when they were young and their friends as they got older.

I love to hear stories from my parents friends, I get to know them as people and not parents. Their personalities come to life I laugh at some of the things they did, being a parent they would have never shared that part of their life w/me. Till Later,

God's Blessings,

Britny and E1 reading this: There is a girl on here the first one I meant that is using this site as a money scam. Her name is Monica her last name is strange Lousso maybe. I gave her my e-mail and she sent me one tonite from a foreign country I have never heard of. Wanting all my info so she can have me help her get over 10 million out of her country her dad left her. I get these all the time thru e-mail, but it is upsetting that someone would come on a grief site to do this to people. Please ignore her. Will catch you later. I have been sick with a URI the last few days and am exhausted. God's blessings. Stay strong and remember even though we don't see them they are all around us.

Debi, I know what you mean about keep people at distance because the fear of loosing someone else you care about is so hard. Im like that too and even when I try to not be like that I end up doing it, when you witness death hand first how can we not put up a wall, were human right. But life is too short and we are meant to live a happy life, laugh, love but it just gets tough. thats why I wanted to meet people who go through what I do, so we can encourage and support eachother through this! and I lost my mom and dad at 16 and 17, no matter if your young or older it still hurts, as you get older, death is apart of life. but when your a kid or young adulthood, your going through milestones, your firsts for things, graduation, proms, weddings, children that they wont be here for physical. so I dont agree with that. but I do know that all of our guardian angels are with us today!!

Molly, I agree with that. Sometimes I feel out of place, it stinks. like this whole experience has affected me and my life and so many ways and now i feel i have and still am going through milestones i want them here for. or a hug to let me know everything will get better. but we can get through this together! Where you from?

Since my loss years ago, I have always kept people, even those I love more than life, at arms length. It's like a wall has been erected to protect my heart from experiencing that type of pain once again. Which when you think about it, it's just dumb. In this life you can not stop the pain and it hurts just as bad with that wall surounding you.
We were meant to love and without it because we become scared to for fear of loss is a waste of the life God gave us. I did that for a long time.
It is my strong faith, that I know I will see my loved ones again, it's just so lonely W/O them until that day.
I've even had people tell me: You really should get over that loss, you didn't have them that long, it's when your parents live a longtime and die is the real loss because you have spent a lifetime with them. Sometimes I just want to punch them for being so cruel. I'm so thankful for this sight and knowing that there are others that feel the loss as deeply as I. I'm not alone anymore. To each and everyone of you, I'm so deeply sorry for the loss that you have went through and the pain it has caused you. Gods many blessings. Debi

Hi Debi, I am truly sorry for your loss. And I totally understand what you mean about jealous but happy with others and their parents, I feel that way often too. Sometimes I notice I isolate myself. and I had to grow up so fast that my friends and I drifted apart because our prioritys and such are so different now, it hurts. Im always here if you to talk also. Thank you!
