This Young Man has a smile that no one can doubt, and even God knows this... He's in Good hands, He's on God's side saying "Mom, don't worry, I'm ok!!!" Take care and try to get a little rest. :)....
Elaine, thank you so much for sharing and your kind words. I am so sorry to hear about your son. He sounds like a wonderful man and has made you very proud. It is so tragic to lose someone so young. My nephew Kevin Arron Ade who was 19 was killed by a drunk driver on April 28, 2007. The drunk driver was not even old enought to drink. My nephew was on his way to class at college. The last year has been like being on a roller coaster between the death of my nephew 4/28/07, my father-in-law unexpected 5/10/07, my father to cancer 6/9/07 and my father-in-law's brother unexpected in 8/2007 and we buried my cousin today who was 52 year old who died from cancer. Thank you again for your kind words and GOD BLESS.
Oh Elaine, how tragic. To survive the dangers of Hurricane Katrina and being a firefighter only to die in a car accident. I used to be an EMT, too, and I always had so much respect for the firefighters. Your son must have been very brave. I'm so glad that his sons will have you to keep his memory alive and to tell them about what a good man he was.
My unexprcted experience was the death of 28yr. old son. His name was Kris J. Phillips Sr. He and his family was about to move to Marietta, Ga. Kris was a New Orleans Fire FireFighter. This one career he always dreamed and hope to be since attending nursery school. Kris was the 1st student to pass this 1st time Fire Cadet program at George Washington Carver Sr. High School in New Orleans, La. where he graduated. Out of the Seniors in the school that year only five students was choosen for the program. Kris was choosen as one. Kris was the only student to continue the the program and passed the Fireman Cadet Program and passed the Fireman Exam this is how his career began and he became a N.O. FireFighter. In the year of 2005 New Orleans was hit by hurricane Katrina. My family lost everything. But thanks to God no dearhs. My family was separated and relocated to different States. Kris and his family was relocated to Baton Rouge, La. This means traveling to New Orleans to work for Kris. In Nov. 2005 Kris was terminated fron the N.O. Fire Dept. Kris decided to move on to another state to maintain his career. The State of Ga. informed Kris of there interest in he becoming a Fire Fighter there. Kris was informed that he had to be a registered EMT also to become a Fireman there. Kris went on to Ga. for EMT class. This is where the sudden and unexpected steps in. On April 9,2005 was killed instantly in a motor vehicle accident, his SUV flipped over. This was the beginning of my heartaches. This is unexpected and sudden when this is seen on TV about the accident and stating that the driver was killed instantly. Hearing the words YES that was your son Ms. Phillips. There are times that I sit and wonder what little mistake that took Kris from me. But I know this is God decission not my. I also knows that God Loved him best. Sometimes I wonder how some gets to say goodbye to their ones and I did't. Kris left behind (2) sons KrisJ. & Kory J. The one my most concern was Kris his 7yr. old who stated,I hate my dad for leaving and not saying goodbye. Kris was a good father spent times with his family Kris was a great provider and a family man not just to his family but to our family as a whole. Kris is and will always be missed by his family and friends who states all the time man I wish Kris was here because you can talk about everything with Kris and he would give good advice and also listens. My heart is still aching even afetr (2) years.
