It has been six months since I lost my dear husband to lung cancer and I still have my crying spells but my family have told me not to hold the tears I recently started to visiting the cementary and placing flowers on his grave something that I thought that I could not bear to do alone yes it was very hard to do but I know that he would be proud of me. I agree with Sheryll, Alberta. You don't need to go to the cemetery unless you decide you want to, and not before. I lost my beloved David on 9/2/09 and, like you and Sheryll, the holidays are difficult. But don't make it any more difficult by feeling like you "ought" to do something, like going to the cemetery. I believe David is not his body, his spirit lives on and I can feel his presence with me when I need him.
Take care, keep heart, and we will make it through the holidays by the grace of God.
Bless you,
Wendela

I lost my wonderful husband on June 24 09. We did everthing together. I have had to go through my birthday our anniversary, and now the holidays. I have not once gone to the cemetary, because to me Dan is not there, he is in my heart and my soul ,and I take him with me always, so don"t feel like you have to visit the cemetary if you dont want to. The holidays are so hard ,but try to keep you family and friends close by dont shut them out ,it will make things a little easier it doesn"t stop the pain, but it does help ease it some and if you need to cry then cry , and remember that we are here and know what you are going through if you need to talk just send me a message, and I will be glad to listen.
