Listening for the Mourning Dove

Spring is painful this year. It has always been my favorite season, It was my mother's as well. She loved th e symbolic promise of new beginnings, the rebirth of nature and the chance to once again work to beautify English-style flower gardens in her yard on the corner.

Through the dark cold fall and winter of my mother's open heart surgery, and her doomed…

Hi Angie,

I was looking over the messages on the group and I noticed

that we BOTH lost our Mother's on Feb 20, 2010.  :(

Not a happy thing to have in common, but I just wanted

to reach out to you.   Every holiday this past year, we've

experienced the same feelings of loss.

Sending out prayers to you.

Warmly,

Debra in Ohio

Hello Angie,

I well know the pain associated with loosing a love one.  I lost my Dad - and so many times I wish - I had just one more day - even just one more hour - I may even settle for just one more minute to remind him of how much I love him.  I thought somewhere in my mind - that is my Dad - he will always be here.

I found comfort in the scriptures and my belief in God.  My Dad will always be in my heart.  Sometimes, when I hear one of his favorite songs it brings me to tears and other times some of his songs makes me want to dance.  Yet, I treasure all of my memories of him.  You can do the same - the pain is there - however, so are the treasured memories - and that is what keeps me sane - the loving thoughts of my Dad.

You pull those loving thoughts of yours and watch it bring a smile to your face.  Then think of the most up beat song that your love one enjoyed and watch you move with them in your heart - Angie - their memories are so beautiful.  I hope, I have been able to offer some encouragement.  I rely strongly in the Bible but not all share the same belief - so I just try to state at a minimal how I was able to handle the death of my Dad.  You have a great day!!
