I, too, am so sorry for your loss. The many years that most of us have been with our partners/spouses is not acknowledged as it should be, but in time, I hope people will come around. I am also in a grieving space as it just turned 7 years since my beloved BJ died. I'd like to guarantee that it gets better, but there are still times when the tears flow, the sadness grows, and I have to pull myself up again and face this world! If it were not for a couple of close friends, I'm not sure I'd be here today because the loneliness enhances the grief. Talk more and talk often about your loved one because that is how they stay alive. If you ever want to chat more, send me a note. Everyone on this forum is here for you.

Namaste,

Care

Hi, I'm really sorry for your loss, and I know what you mean - I lost my husband April 22, 2015 to cancer, and although there are some very close friends of mine who "get it", the people i deal with don't seem to recognize this grieving as real - someone even said to me "Well, it's not like you were husband and wife or anything!" I was so taken aback by that I just stood there blinking until they walked away, and I wiped the tears while vowing not to speak to that person again.

Steve is suggesting a very good source of support, and I am in the same "family" as it were, so check it out - you may just find something for you there. Either way, please know that you are not alone in your feelings - and you are in my thoughts and prayers - you can and will get through this - with a little help from your friends...

I lost my partner 14 months ago, please see the link below, it has a wonderful group of caring individuals, no matter our background we all have the same thing in common, loss of a spouse or significant other.
