I was so glad to be finally feeling up to visiting my dear brother in PA this weekend. He is being so strong knowing his pancreatic cancer has spread and life is shorter than he would have hoped. I feel so much of my dear Bill's bravery in my brother. My sister in law is being brave too. They have so much to deal with and I can so feel what they have ahead of them. I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your love, prayers, and hugs for my recent gallbladder surgery, and now for helping me thru this time with my brother. Bill was always so great being there for me when these kinds of things happened which really makes the pain so fresh, but knowing you all understand really helps so so much. Thank you again dear friends. I hope everyone got thru Thanksgiving well and are trying to look forward to Christmas with just a smidge of cheer. There are lots of charities and things looking for help at this time of year so maybe adopting one of these will help us "move outside our box" for just a little. Share anything that is helping you "cope". Hugs to all you dear ones..

Kathy, My heartfelt sorrow for this news about your brother. You are such a gift to this site sharing your feelings and strength and hope along the way of ALL the grief you have endured. I am sending prayers all the time and do hope you keep us updated on how you and your family are doing. HUGS. Ellen
Glad you are feeling better. Since you asked my son and I decided to spend the money we would have spent on Dad and Husband on a family in need. I didn't feel up to actually shopping but donated to our local Christmas Cheer fund. Everyone copes differently and we were looking for something to actively do...that would make us feel like we were helping someone have a good Christmas. We know ours will be difficult so wanted to help someone else. Have a great visit.
