While going through a painful time, can the Bible offer us any comfort?
The Bible actually speaks of 9 different resurrections. They happened to men and women, young and old. Romans 15:4 says that these "things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope." It can be faith strengthening to review these 9 resurrections:
1 Kings 17:17-24 – Son of The Widow of Zarephath
2 Kings 4:17-37 – Shunammite woman's son
2 Kings 13:20, 21 – Effect of Elisha’s bones
Luke 7:11-17 – Widow of Nain loses her son
Luke 8:40-56 – Jairus' 12 year old daughter
John Chapter 11 – Lazarus Hope for the Dead
Matthew 28:5-7 – The Resurrection of Jesus
Acts 9:36-42 – Tabitha/Dorcas
Acts 20:7-12 – Eutychus
