The police were so cold. Why couldn’tthey Come in person? I answered the phone, they asked for me, I said, “this is her”. He then proceeded to say, “Candace Watson is dead”. No preamble.  I froze and slammed the phone down! That was nine years, eight months, twenty-eight days and thirteen hours ago. Candace Rae Watson is on my mind 24/7.  Sadly, I’ve grown accustomed to this empty and lethargic lifestyle. For years, when the phone rang, I would think, Candace?, Sad I’ve gotten past that because now I’m resigned to it.
