New Blog: The Pinky Promise Derek and I would have this tradition, that on the first of each month's anniversary, we would write down all our wishes and the things we wanted to do. Then we would plan out in our calendars ways we would make that happen.   We would ‘seal the deal” with a pinky promise. It was fun to do but was also a reminder of our promise and commitment to each other and to enjoying life. So, as I set my wishes, it would be for you to grant yourself permission to enjoy life.

New Blog: The Path to Thriving The journey into our Chapter 2 is different for everyone. Each one of us will take a different route into healing and thriving. For me, the transition was a huge milestone. It was new and sometimes scary, or challenging.

What is Cumulative Grief? When someone encounters one loss after another or are unable to address their grief, it builds up and becomes overwhelming and challenging. Imagine each time you left an article of clothing in your room without putting it away – a few pieces may not clutter the room and you may not notice it. But over time, it accumulates and one day you walk into a space that feels suffocating and overwhelming. That is how cumulative grief builds in our life.

"Love Never Fails"

Love Never Fails…”

That was the inscription etched onto the tiny wooden cross carefully wrapped within an eBay purchase which I was not supposed to receive for another four weeks and delivered by a gentleman whom I never saw before. I had thought the inscription was a “cosmic response” to…

Finding Light In the Chaos

Posted on July 16, 2012 at 10:30pm 2 Comments

My journey or  “second life” began on  June 11, 2012 at 8:45PM — the moment I’ve realized that I’ve lost Derek — my best friend, true love and soul mate suddenly and unexpectedly.

How would I have described my life if I had met you prior to 8:45PM that evening? I would have said that I was a seasoned marketer,…
