(Isaiah 41:10) Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.’
(Isaiah 41:13) For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, The One saying to you, ‘Do not be afraid. I will help you.’
These scriptures have brought me much comfort during distressful times. My prayer is that it does the…

As I read through this website... we find such comfort and warmth...I love the poems and artwork.. Some may not believe in a higher power....and some may not have faith but we have one thing in common ....We all have lost someone very close to us in death. Death is all of our enemies. Yes, a word spoken at the right time is so comforting..When we hear the words of consolation from our friends it helps us endure. It is such a danger to isolate ourselves. I see that ever clearer now...words of…

In my town a young boy committed suicide. He was bullied. He told his bully, I can not take this any longer...I am going to kill myself. The bully said "Put up or shut up." The boy even told his bus driver, " You are not going to see me because I am going to end my life. The bus driver chuckled and said, " I will see you tomorrow.....Cases like this happen every day. One of my friends ended her life...a distant relative ended his....We can not ignore the signs. My heart is troubled about…

It is hard for me to go to funerals because I don't like seeing the body...My mother says to me " If I die I want my family to see me."
This is going to be so difficult for me but I will respect her wishes.
I want to be cremated. I do not want people looking at me. I want people to remember me as a I was. One time I went to a funeral and some made the comment that they did not fix the person up right.... this is sad..... I prefer memorial services where they talk about the…

I dont know how to do this Stephen. How do I handle your sister being pregnant and hoping it is a boy? How do I get through her wedding without ruining things for her because I am not ready for them? How do I get through her wedding with your other sister there not talking to me? How do I deal with the loss of so many friends? I wish you were here to talk to, you always had time for me. You were my champion, taking on your disabled mom's causes and my voice when I could do nothing about…

I t’s hard not to feel sorrow when a friendship flounders. Maybe you are experiencing a difficult time and a friend vanishes; or, a friend experiences life changes and seems to drop out. It can be hard to pinpoint what has happened and if you are uncomfortable asking, you can only speculate.
This happened to…

It seems to always happen....our dear friend died a few days ago and we did not know he was sick. I think about his family and his dear wife.... So much pain....I am looking forward to the promise when we can have real happiness - Revelation 21;3,4.

I got the worst call i could imagine back in sept. My dad called and told me my brother had passed away. It took me a minute to comprehend what he had told me. I had to go to my brothers house to see his wife and kids, and to see my brother so i could process what my dad had told me. He was 32 years old. I am sad, angry, and hurt that he is gone. I can't imagine what my sister in law is going through. I know i lost my brother that i grew up with since he was birth and i can't imagine him…

Many people feel that when people commit suicide God is going to punish them.... What many people do not realize is that Depression is a serious thing and I know God who is a loving God understands the pain and suffering that people are going through....We are weak ....we are frail...Our family members and friends are in God's memory and that is a promise John 5:28,29.

The news was horribly sad: The mother of my daughter’s best friend was terminally ill and in hospice care. She and her husband had retired two years ago and relocated to a community nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a new beginning with different friends and adventures awaiting; now, she has just a few weeks to live.…

On December 9th last year (2015) I lost my mama. It was so sudden that I can't seem to shake the feeling of shock. I'd like to share the story of the last few months so I can get some feedback on maybe how or why this happened:
My mom had always been healthy and active. When she turned 80 a few years back she started having aches and pains in her low back and knees which we all attributed to the fact she didn't like to exercise. She would poke fun at me (I am in the fitness…
