Some well meaning friends may persuade us to take a certain supplement or herb. " This will help your illness." Taking this type of water will decrease your risk of dying.. ...... I had so many friends die for not going to the doctor and not listening to trained professionals. They think ,I can take this herb or vitamin and get better..... Not only is this dangerous physically but mentally. I have a close friend with paranoid schizophrenia. She believes herbs will cure her. I afraid I am…

Life after death for me has always been difficult to comprehend. I do not believe in reincarnation and the topic of religion is often a difficult one to write about. To many opinions and differences among us humans that it is best to leave it be.
During my latest visit to Texas I came a cross a new product, well new for me that gave me a smile when thinking about death. Before I go on I am not promoting this manufacturer but I do plan to add a link to them as I believe they…

I lost my husband Ken in January after 26 1/2 yrs of marriage. He was the love of my life, my everything. Now I don't know what comes next. It's a struggle to get through each day. Only those that have lost their life partner can understand how excruciating it is. I'm hoping this group can somehow help.

(Revelation 21:3-5) With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne…

Many of us feel angry... Many of us feel guilt....I often say, if I only if I had did this or that... I read that if we are feeling this way, we should not bottle our feelings.. Speaking to close friends who will listen is helpful... Irrational feelings are common and we are going to have them...cry and let it out and talk it out . There is an ancient proverb that says a true friend is there at all times and even in bad times.- Proverbs 17:17

Widows have the opportunity to remarry and the decision is totally personal....We often want to be critical of the one that wants to remarry, especially us children... We should be supportive and not look for our own interest. Widows need to be cheered up again and if this helps... I say let's support this decision- Philippians 2:4

When my friend returned to work following the death of her dad, her supervisor told her, “It is now time to put this chapter behind you and get on with your life.”
Get on with her life? My friend had yet to mourn the death of her father or even begin to process the loss and what it would mean to live her life without her…

Many of us have had dear friends or family that have completed suicide. (Negative word "committed) So, I do not say committed. Its interesting to note that more females attempt suicide but male complete it more. Years ago a spiritual sister of mine completed suicide.... I did see the warning signs but you dont think to act....( being imperfect). I hear of one boy that completed suicide and was the top of his class...Was there signs at home I do not know. I writing this to raise awareness.…

Q. I met someone who remarried after her husband died. Recently, her second husband also died. How common is it to be widowed twice? How do people survive this?
I personally know of four widows who lost two husbands each. It's becoming a trend of sorts as we live longer and there's more time to start over again. The number of Americans 100 years old or older increased 43.6 percent between 2000 and 2014, according to…

Tomorrow marks 4 years since my 32 yr old brother passed away from alcoholism. I vividy recall some days especially around now his body that day.. its etched in my mind. I have lived a full life and carried on. My heart and soul have not been so fast. 4 years and the pain is still like yesterday . I miss him so much. What is killing me is that while my family gathers tomorrow my other sibling always chooses to not take part in any family gatherings. He makes excuses to not come. It breaks…

The new phenomenon of "On This Day" FB memories, when you are grieving the loss of a loved one, is a tough one. Each day I'm seeing memories on FB of both my Mum and Dad, and reliving the trauma of everything that happened last year before they both died. I am very torn. In some ways, I don't want to see these posts, but in other ways, I *do* want to see them, because they *are* helping to give me some much needed perspective.
For instance, re-reading the details (which can get…

When I checked the obituaries in my local newspaper today, I found four out of the 33 stated a cause of death. Of the four, only one was specific. While it is customary to state the cause of death in an obituary, not every family is comfortable doing so. Or, the family is willing to state in general terms, but…

January 29th 2016 marked 1 year without Tim.
Tim's mom Arlis and I visited his site with his sister and brother-in-law, Dawn & Ed. Mom planned the route: stop at the Dollar Store first. For a split second I thought what, why, huh, dollar store flowers, really? This just shows how little I know about losing someone and how much more practical someone who has…
